Mannheim–Saarbrücken railway Rail line in Germany

The Mannheim–Saarbrücken railway is a railway in the German states of Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and the Saarland that runs through Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Neustadt an der Weinstraße, Kaiserslautern, Homburg and St. Ingbert. It is the most important railway line that runs through the Palatinate. It serves both passenger and freight transport and carries international traffic.

Nahe Valley Railway

The Nahe Valley Railway is a two-track, partially electrified main line railway in the German states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, which runs for almost 100 kilometres along the Nahe. It was built by the Rhine-Nahe Railway Company and connects Bingen am Rhein on the Left Rhine line with Saarbrücken. It was opened between 1858 and 1860 and is one of the oldest railways in Germany. The section south of Bad Kreuznach is part of the regionally important transport corridor between the two major cities of Mainz and Saarbrücken.

Homburg (Saar) Hauptbahnhof is a railway station in the town of Homburg in the German state of Saarland. It is a through station with four platforms and seven platform tracks and is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a station of category 3. It is located at the junction of the Homburg–Neunkirchen line and the Mannheim–Saarbrücken line. It has been the western terminus of line S1 of the Rhine-Neckar S-Bahn since 2006.

Andernach station

Andernach station is the transportation hub of the city of Andernach in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is a mid-sized station with thousands of passengers each day. It is currently classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 3 station. It has four passenger platforms, three with a length of more than 280 m, and sidings and freight tracks. It is on the Left Rhine line and is the terminus of the Cross Eifel Railway (Eifelquerbahn). In addition to passenger operations, the station has container and freight operations to the east of the station, particularly serving the tin plate manufacturer, Rasselstein.

Essen-Steele station Railway station in Essen, Germany

Essen-Steele is located in the district of Essen-Steele in the German city of Essen in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is on the Witten/Dortmund–Oberhausen/Duisburg line and is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station. It is served by the RE 14 (Emscher-Münsterland-Express) Borken (Westf) / Coesfeld (Westf), RE 49 (Wupper-Lippe-Express) and Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn lines S1, S3 and S9.

Höfingen station

Höfingen station is in the Leonberg district of Höfingen in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is located at kilometre 10.9 of the Black Forest Railway and is a station on the network of the Stuttgart S-Bahn.

Ottweiler (Saar) station

Ottweiler (Saar) station is centrally located in the town of Ottweiler in the German state of the Saarland on the Nahe Valley Railway, which was opened in 1860. Since 1937, the Ottweiler–Schwarzerden line has branched off in Ottweiler; it is now used as a museum railway. The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station.

Kirkel station

Kirkel station is a station located in Kirkel-Neuhäusel at kilometre 21.50 of the Mannheim–Saarbrücken railway in the German state of Saarland. Deutsche Bahn classified it as belonging to station category 6. The station is served hourly by Regionalbahn services RB70 and RB71. In addition, individual Regional-Express services on line RE1 stop. At the station there are Park&Ride parking spaces.
