The German Navy is the navy of Germany and part of the unified Bundeswehr, the German Armed Forces. The Cannon class was a class of destroyer escorts built by the United States primarily for antisubmarine warfare and convoy escort service during World War II. The lead ship, USS Cannon, was commissioned on 26 September 1943 at Wilmington, Delaware. Of the 116 ships ordered, 44 were cancelled and six were commissioned directly into the Free French Forces. Destroyer escorts were regular companions escorting vulnerable cargo ships.

Project 122bis submarine chasers were a Soviet design which were exported throughout the communist bloc in the 1950s. The first ship, BO-270, was built at Zelenodolsk in 1945-1947 and a total of 227 were built for Soviet Navy (175) and border guard until 1955. As well as this, twenty Project 357 despatch vessels were built on the same hull, but were lightly armed.

USS <i>Chelan County</i> (LST-542)

USS LST–542 was the lead ship of her class of tank landing ships built for the United States Navy during World War II. She was later named USS Chelan County (LST-542) for the county in Washington, the only U.S. Naval vessel to bear the name. The LST-542-class was built with a water-distilling plant and heavier armament than the earlier LST-1 class, which slightly decreased their payload.

USS Crook County (LST-611), originally USS LST-611, was a United States Navy LST-542-class tank landing ship built during World War II and in commission from 1944 to 1956. Named after Crook County, Oregon, and Crook County, Wyoming, she has been the only U.S. Navy vessel to bear the name.

USS Pender County (LST-1080) was an LST-542-class tank landing ship in the United States Navy. Unlike many of her class, which received only numbers and were disposed of after World War II, she survived long enough to be named. On 1 July 1955, all LSTs still in commission were named for US counties or parishes; LST-1080 was given the name Pender County, after a county in North Carolina.
