She began singing while in the fifth grade, then began writing songs and took work as a backing vocalist for Elfa Secioria in high school. This led to her family and her moving to Jakarta to further her career. While providing backing vocals for Katon Bagaskara's promotional tour, she met Anto Hoed and Andi Ayunir. It was released by Sony Music on 6 February 2014, almost a year after his special album, Menembus Batas. Created as part of his thirtieth anniversary celebration, the album was inspired by Dharmawan's musical journey in Indonesian music over the years. It consists of twelve tracks that are mostly cover versions of Dharmawan's songs, along with three new songs written by him. Sony Music Indonesia's founder Jan Djuhana served as the album's executive producer, with Badai, Erwin Bragi, Tanto of the Groove, Tito P. Soenardi and others contributed production.
