The Kalka–Shimla Railway is a 2 ft 6 in narrow-gauge railway in North India which traverses a mostly mountainous route from Kalka to Shimla. It is known for dramatic views of the hills and surrounding villages. The railway was built under the direction of Herbert Septimus Harington between 1898 and 1903 to connect Shimla, the summer capital of India during the British Raj, with the rest of the Indian rail system.

The D1 is a east-west motorway in Slovakia. Its route is Bratislava (D2/D4) - Trnava (R1) - Trenčín (R2) - Púchov (R6) - Žilina (D3) - Martin (R3) Ruzomberok (R3) - Poprad - Prešov (R4) - Košice (R4) - Michalovce - SK/UA border. It is the main motorway in Slovakia as well as being the longest and busiest motorway in Slovakia.

Margecany is a village and municipality in the Gelnica District in the Košice Region of eastern Slovakia. Total municipality population was, in 2011, 1964 inhabitants. Margecany is a very important railway junction situated on the main railway corridor connecting Košice with Žilina and Bratislava. Ružín reservoir regulates rivers Hornád and Hnilec. Technical attraction is the Bujanov tunnel.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">D2 motorway (Slovakia)</span>

D2 is a motorway in Slovakia. It connects the Czech border at Kúty with the Hungarian border at Čunovo, passing through Malacky, Bratislava and Jarovce. It is part of the European routes E65 and E75 and of the Pan-European Corridor IV. The construction of the 80-kilometre-long (50 mi) highway started in 1969 and it was finished in 2007. It is the only complete highway in Slovakia.

The Motorway D3, sometimes called the Kysuce Motorway, is a motorway in northern Slovakia. Initially, it is supposed to be only a two lane motorway in the Svrčinovec - Slovak/Polish border section, and four lane motorway in the remaining section Hričovské Podhradie - Čadca. It lies on these E-roads: E50, E75 and E442.

R2 is an expressway in Slovakia, also nicknamed the "southern highway". It starts near Trenčín and ends near Košice. It goes through or around Bánovce nad Bebravou, Prievidza, Žiar nad Hronom, Zvolen, Lučenec, Rimavská Sobota and Rožňava. It is an upgrade, being executed in sections of the Class 1 road I/16, with signage changed to R2 on the completed sections.

The 2015–16 Slovak Cup, also known as Slovnaft Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 47th edition of the competition. The winners of the competition will qualify for the First qualifying round of the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League.

The 2016–17 Slovak First Football League is the 24th season of first-tier football league in Slovakia, since its establishment in 1993. AS Trenčín are the defending champions, after winning their 2nd Slovak championship. The fixtures were announced on 5 July 2016. The season began on 16 July 2016 and will be finished on 27 May 2017.
