Kettering is a market and industrial town in the North Northamptonshire unitary authority area of Northamptonshire, England. It forms a civil parish called Kettering Town. Kettering is located 67 miles (108 km) north of London and 15 miles (24 km) north-east of Northampton, west of the River Ise, a tributary of the River Nene. The name means "the place of Ketter's people ".

The Hathaway Academy, formerly the Grays School Media Arts College, is a coeducational, non-selective secondary school with academy status that is located in Grays, Essex, England. It is currently part of the Academy Transformation Trust. A school has existed on the Hathaway Road site since 1931, when the John Henry Burrows Central Council School moved from nearby Bridge Road. The school became a secondary technical in 1945 and a comprehensive school in 1971. In 1993, it was given grant-maintained status and was renamed the Grays School. In 2004, it specialised and became the Grays School Media Arts College, which closed in June 2013 with the subsequent opening of the current academy-status school. The academy school has since retained TGSMAC's specialisms, which are digital media and performing arts.

The merged school was named after Elizabeth Woodville, who was born in Grafton Regis, halfway between the two sites, and was Queen consort of King Edward IV.

Malcolm Arnold Academy is a mixed-gender Academy in Northampton, England, for pupils aged 11 – 18. It was established in 2010 following the closure of the Unity College in July of that year, and opened for year 7 and ages 16+ on 3 September 2010, and for other years on 6 September. The academy, which begins as an entirely new school, occupies the campus of the former Unity College and has the capacity for 1,450 pupils. The academy is a Church of England foundation academy but caters for all faiths and none. In February 2014 it was announced that the academy would be forming a Post-16 Football Scholarship scheme with local semi-professional club AFC Rushden & Diamonds. The academy has had four Principals. Mr Philip Cantwell was the first Principal and Mr Chris Steed, was Executive Principal 2014-2018, Mrs Koncarevik 2018-2019.These were followed by Executive Principal Mrs Helena Brothwell and Kimberley Lawton as Interim Principal. Mrs Megan Morris took over as Principal in September 2020 and promoted to Executive Principal in September 2022.

Serious questions were raised about how money was spent on improvements, as well as claims that school governors were denied financial reports and that there was a lack of local scrutiny over the way the school was run. Fowey River Academy was reportedly charged at least £300,000 for LED lighting that its chairman of governors said was not installed.
