Saddleback Valley Unified School District (SVUSD) is a public school district in South Orange County, California. It includes 26 elementary schools, four intermediate schools and four comprehensive high schools. It serves all of Lake Forest, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods and serves parts of Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, and a very small portion of Irvine. Most of Trabuco, Modjeska, and Dove Canyon is in the school district, and communities such as Foothill Ranch and Portola Hills are also served by the district.
Saddleback Valley refers to the flat and foothill areas west-southwest of the Saddleback mountain peak of the Santa Ana Mountains and east-northeast of the hilly Crystal Cove State Park in South Orange County, California. The region primarily encompasses the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, and Rancho Santa Margarita, as well as the communities of Coto de Caza and Ladera Ranch. The cities of Aliso Viejo, Laguna Woods, Laguna Hills, and Laguna Niguel, as well as some of Orange County's eastern canyon communities, partially reside within the valley. The southeastern portion of Irvine also encroaches upon the area, but the two are not typically associated with each other.
Mission Viejo High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Mission Viejo, California, United States, as part of the Saddleback Valley Unified School District. The school has served the area since 1966. Students within its attendance boundaries live in western Mission Viejo, southwest Lake Forest, Trabuco Canyon, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Laguna Hills. Its mascot is Pablo the Diablo and its colors are scarlet and gold. 230 credits are required to graduate. It is the home to one of the only agricultural farms on a high school campus in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District.

The Poqomam are a Maya people in Guatemala and El Salvador. Their indigenous language is also called Poqomam and is closely related to Poqomchi'. Notable Poqomam settlements are located in Chinautla, Palín (Escuintla), and in San Luis Jilotepeque (Jalapa). Before the Spanish Conquest, the Poqomam had their capital at Chinautla Viejo. The Poqomam that advanced further east, to the territories of present-day El Salvador, were largely displaced by the migration of the Pipil people in the 11th century. The few Poqomam that remained in El Salvador live near the Guatemala border, in the departments of Santa Ana and Ahuachapan.
