Lotte Olsen (born 23 November 1966) is a retired female badminton player from Denmark, who won a silver medal at the 1993 IBF World Championships and competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics. She won several international tournaments, and four Danish National Badminton Championships in women's doubles during her career. [1]

Lotte Olsen was a leading women's doubles player from her junior year, and won the Danish under-19 championship in 1984 and 1985. [2] She won the silver medal at the 1993 IBF World Championships in women's doubles with Lisbeth Stuer-Lauridsen. They won silver medals at the 1994 European Badminton Championships, where Olsen also won silver medals with Christian Jacobsen in mixed doubles. [3]

Lotte is the older sister of badminton player Rikke Olsen, and together they won the 1995 Hamburg Open in women's doubles. [4] She also competed in badminton at the 1996 Summer Olympics in women's doubles with Ann Jørgensen and in mix with Christian Jakobsen. In women's doubles, she lost in the quarter final to the runners-up from South Korea. [5] She ended her career after the Olympics, [4] and later received the Danish Badminton Federation badge of merit. [6]

Kim Dong-moon is a retired South Korean badminton player who won major titles between the mid-1990s and the mid-2000s (decade), and widely regarded as one of finest men's doubles and mixed doubles players in badminton history. Kim captured the world attention when he unexpectedly winning the gold medal in the mixed doubles event with Gil Young-ah at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics. On his path to greatness, he won gold medals both in men's and mixed doubles at the 1999 World Championships. Kim and Ra Kyung-min, partnered up to become one of the strongest mixed doubles pairings of that time. They did not drop a single match from April to November in 2003. They won 10 straight victorious tournaments: 9 consecutive Grand Prix events and one World Championship title. Their excellent results in 2003 earned Kim and Ra the Eddie Choong Player of the Year award. He captured this award previously by himself in 2002. Despite their domination, the golden couple crashed in the second round against the Danish partnership of Jonas Rasmussen and Rikke Olsen at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Kim however redeemed himself with a gold medal in men's doubles with Ha Tae-kwon. After the 2004 Olympics, Kim retired from playing and married his former mixed doubles partner, Ra in 2005. Kim is currently the only South Korean player to have ever won Olympic gold in both the men's and mixed doubles events. He was inducted into the BWF Hall of Fame in 2009.

Along with those sporting achievements she is only the second person to hold all five titles in all three disciplines of badminton at the English National Championships. She reached a career high as world No. 1 in the mixed doubles and No. 4 in the women's doubles.

Helene Green Kirkegaard is a retired Danish badminton player from Lillerød badminton club. She competed at the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics. At the 1995 IBF World Championships, she won a silver medal in the mixed doubles with Jens Eriksen and a bronze medal in the women's doubles with Rikke Olsen.

Lena Frier Kristiansen is a badminton player from Denmark. In 2001, she won the silver and bronze medals at the European Junior Championships in the mixed team and doubles respectively. Partneres with Kamilla Rytter Juhl, they won the bronze medal the 2006 European Championships in the women's doubles event, and made it to the gold medal in 2008. They also competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, but was defeated in the first round by the Japanese pair Kumiko Ogura and Reiko Shiota in the rubber games.

The BWF World Championships, formerly known as IBF World Championships, and also known as the World Badminton Championships, is a badminton tournament sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). The tournament is one of the most prestigious in badminton, offering the most ranking points, together with the Summer Olympics badminton tournaments which was first introduced in 1992. The winners of this tournament are also crowned as "World Champions" of the sport, and are awarded a gold medal.

Jim Laugesen is a former Danish badminton player. He was the 1992 World Junior Champion in the mixed doubles event partnered with Rikke Olsen. He competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia partnered with Michael Søgaard reaching in to the second round. Laugesen was dismissed from the Danmarks Badminton Forbund (DBS) center in September 2004. He now works as a badminton journalist at TV 2 in Denmark, and as a badminton coach in Gentofte Badminton Klub.

Anne-Mette van Dijk is a Danish former top badminton player of mid '90s. Anne Mette Bille won her first title in 1980 at the Danish U13 Junior Individual Championships. In 1986, she won Nordic Junior Championships partnering Thomas Lund. In 1989 she won the senior national doubles title for the first time with Lotte Olsen. In 1993 she reached the quarter-finals at the World Championships. 1994, she won silver at the European Championship in the mixed team event. Her husband Jeroen van Dijk was a former Olympian in Badminton. They met each other in 1994 in Taiwan & got married in 1999. She runs a shop for greeting cards for various occasions in Lyngby.
