Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., known professionally as Lil Wayne, is an American rapper. He is regarded as one of the most influential and greatest hip hop artists of all time. Wayne was formally part of Cash Money Records, where he would release 5 number 1 albums under the label name before ultimately leaving in 2018. Wayne is now apart of Young Money Entertainment, a record label in whitch he created.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Harris is known as one of the pioneers of the hip hop subgenre trap music, along with fellow Atlanta-based rappers Jeezy and Gucci Mane. He first became aquainted with local music executive Kawan "KP" Prather, and joined his company Ghet-O-Vision Entertainment by the late 1990s.
