One Big Family EP is a four-track extended play (EP) by English band Embrace from their debut album, The Good Will Out (1998). Released on 7 July 1997, and with the song "One Big Family" as the lead track, the EP narrowly missed the top 20 in the United Kingdom, peaking at number 21. "One Big Family" is sung by guitarist Richard McNamara rather than Embrace's usual singer, his brother Danny. In 2011, English artist Templecloud released a cover of the song that reached number 24 on the UK Singles Chart.

Fight or Flight is the debut studio album by American pop singer-songwriter Emily Osment. The album was released in Canada on September 28, 2010, and in the US October 5, 2010 by Wind-Up Records. She has worked with producers from her previous musical efforts such as Matthew Bair, as well as Toby Gad, Nellee Hooper and Mandi Perkins. Fight or Flight mainly draws from the genre of electropop while having a dance-pop feel, and containing dancehall and techno, among other influences.
"Second Chance" is a single by recording artist Tinchy Stryder. It is the second single from his third studio album Third Strike. It was released on 31 October 2010 as a digital download and on 1 November 2010 as a physical single. The song also features vocals from singer Taio Cruz. A music video was made for the single and was premiered on Tinchy Stryder's YouTube channel on 24 September 2010.
"Higher" is the fifth single from English singer-songwriter Taio Cruz's second studio album, Rokstarr. It was written and produced by Cruz and Sandy Vee, and was released on 26 November 2010. This song was originally written for Australian singer Kylie Minogue's album Aphrodite, but plans fell through. However, Cruz and Minogue recorded a version of the song for the European release, while American rapper Travie McCoy recorded guest raps for the American release. The Brazilian and United Kingdom versions have parts of McCoy's rap mixed into the Minogue version. The version on Cruz's albums feature a solo vocal by Cruz with no guest vocalist and an edited version of the solo version was added to Radio Disney's playlist.
Playing in the Shadows is the third studio album by British recording artist Example, released on 4 September 2011 through Ministry of Sound. Example confirmed that much like the previous album, there would be no collaborations, besides that of producers. During an interview, Example said the album remains dance oriented, although he would make a gradual move into electronic and dubstep genres.
"Hush" is a song written by American singer Emily Osment and Canadian singer Josh Ramsay. They decided to collaborate when Osment went on a trip to Canada to film a movie, and met Ramsay. They immediately hit it off, and decided to write a song together. It officially premiered on Much Music on April 26, 2011. The song was sent to Canadian radio on May 10, 2011, and released to Canada's iTunes Store on the same day. Osment confirmed on her official Twitter that there will be a music video for the song to be released in September. The music video never materialized and the song has only been released exclusively in Canada.

The song was released on 22 January 2012 as a digital download and CD single in the United Kingdom, taken from their debut album, Bajan Style. The song topped the UK Singles Chart and received a Gold certification from the British Phonographic Industry in October 2020.
Jamie McDell is a New Zealand musician and singer-songwriter. She was discovered at the age of 16 by EMI Music New Zealand after sending them a demo tape of her acoustic original music. Prior to being signed by a major record label, McDell used various social media outlets to gain exposure, posting YouTube videos – including original songs and cover songs, Twitter and Facebook to get her music out to the masses.

The song peaked at number 30 on the UK Singles Chart. British singer-songwriter Lily Allen covered the song in an acoustic version at the BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge.

"Matilda" is a song by British rock band alt-J from their debut studio album An Awesome Wave, released on 10 January 2012 as a digital download. It was released as a split single with "Fitzpleasure" on 24 February as a digital download and on 10" triangle shaped vinyl. It was written by Joe Newman, Gus Unger-Hamilton, Gwilym Sainsbury and Thom Green and produced by Charlie Andrew. The song relates to the movie Léon, specifically the relationship between the main character and a young girl called Mathilda.
