At the 1900 Summer Olympics one gymnastics event for men was contested. The competition was held on Sunday, 29 July 1900, and on Monday, 30 July 1900. There were 135 competitors from 8 nations. The top 18 places were taken by French gymnasts, of which there were more than 100. The event was won by Gustave Sandras, with Noël Bas finishing second and Lucien Démanet third. The highest-placing foreign gymnast was Jules Ducret of Switzerland, in a tie for 19th place.
A tug of war tournament was held on 16 July at Catalan Cross, Boulogne Forest in Paris as part of the 1900 Summer Olympics. The only match of the tournament was between a mixed team from the Racing Club de France, consisting of five French and one Colombian athlete, and a mixed team consisting of three Danish athletes and three Swedish athletes. The mixed Scandinavian team won the match 2–0.

The men's hammer throw was a track & field athletics event at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris, the sport's first Olympic appearance. It was held on July 16, 1900. Five hammer throwers from two nations competed. The event was won by John Flanagan of the United States, the first of his three consecutive victories in the hammer throw. The American team swept the medals, with Truxtun Hare finishing second and Josiah McCracken third.

This was Aruba's third appearance at a Summer Olympic Games since separating from the Netherlands Antilles. Sellappuliyage Lucian Benedict Rosa is a former Sri Lankan long-distance runner. He represented Sri Lanka at the 1972 Summer Olympics held in Munich, Germany. He is best known for running barefooted and winning a 5000 metres and the 10,000 metres double at the 1970 Asian Games held in Bangkok, Thailand. His performance in 10,000 metres was also an Asian Games record.
Eléonor Lucien Ernest Duquesne was a French runner who competed in 3000 m – 10,000 m events at the 1920, 1924 and 1928 Summer Olympics. His best achievements were fourth place in the team 3000 m event in 1920 and 1924 and sixth place in the 3000 m steeplechase in 1928.
