In December 2018, BTS surpassed 10 million albums sold, setting the record for reaching that milestone in the shortest span of time among all Korean acts to have debuted since 2000, with five million of those albums being sold in South Korea that year alone. By April 2020, the group had sold over 20 million physical albums in South Korea, becoming the best-selling Korean act of all time in less than seven years. As of May 2023, they have sold over 44 million albums domestically.
Generation Ex, stylized as GENERATION EX, is the second studio album by Japanese boy band Generations from Exile Tribe, released on February 18, 2015. The album contains three previously released singles — "Never Let You Go", "Always With You", and "Sing It Loud"— all of which achieved positions within the top three on the Oricon weekly singles chart.
"Sakura" is the 45th single by Japanese boy band Arashi. It was released on February 25, 2015 under their record label J Storm. "Sakura" was used as the theme song for the television drama Ouroborous, starring actors Toma Ikuta and Shun Oguri. The single was released in two editions: a first press/limited edition and a regular edition. The first press/limited edition contains the B-side "Rise and Shine" and the music video and making-of for "Sakura" while the regular edition contains two B-sides. The single sold 465,381 copies in its first week and topped the weekly Oricon Singles Chart. With over 520,000 copies sold, the single was certified Double Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). The single placed 11th on Oricon's 2015 yearly singles ranking.
The discography of Japanese rock band Sekai no Owari consists of eight studio albums, two extended play, four video albums and twelve singles. After self-releasing their first extended play in 2009, Sekai no Owari debuted as an independent artist in 2010 under Lastrum Music Entertainment with the album Earth. After releasing a double A-side single "Tenshi to Akuma" / "Fantasy" at the end of 2010, Sekai no Owari parted with their previous label, signing with major label Toy's Factory. The group released their second album Entertainment in 2012, immediately after "Nemurihime", the band's first top five single on the Oricon singles charts.
Back Number is a Japanese rock power trio formed in 2004. The group consists of Iyori Shimizu, Kazuya Kojima, and Hisashi Kurihara (drums). "Ai o Sakebe" (愛を叫べ) is the 47th single by Japanese boy band Arashi. It was released on September 2, 2015 under their record label J Storm. "Ai o Sakebe" was used as the background song for the Recruit Zexy commercial. The single sold 462,550 copies in its first week and topped the weekly Oricon Singles Chart. With over 519,000 copies sold, the single was certified Double Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). "Ai o Sakebe" placed 12th on Oricon's 2015 yearly singles ranking.
Face Yourself is the third Japanese and fifth overall studio album by South Korean boy band BTS released on April 4, 2018, through Big Hit, Virgin, Universal Music Japan and Def Jam Recordings. The album contains Japanese versions of songs previously released on the group's second Korean studio album Wings (2016), and the Love Yourself: Her (2017) extended play (EP), as well as three new, original Japanese-language tracks: "Don't Leave Me", "Let Go", and "Crystal Snow". Its debut at number 43 on the Billboard 200 made it the third-highest-charting Japanese album in the history of the chart.
"Clear" is a song recorded by Japanese singer Maaya Sakamoto. It was released as a single on January 31, 2018, through FlyingDog. It was written by Sakamoto and composed by Yoshiki Mizuno of the band Ikimono-gakari. "Clear" is the opening theme to the NHK anime Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, the sequel to Cardcaptor Sakura, for which Sakamoto's "Platinum" served as opening theme for the third season close to twenty years prior. An acoustic take of "Platinum" performed on June 4, 2017 at the Itsukushima Shrine in Hiroshima is included as a coupling track on the single.

South Korean boy band Tomorrow X Together, also known as TXT, has released five studio albums, one reissue, six extended plays, 30 singles—including seven soundtrack appearances—and 38 music videos. Per Gaon, the group is the 10th best-selling Korean act in history within the last decade, having sold over 3.3 million albums domestically as of November 2021.
The discography of the Japanese anime television series Bocchi the Rock! includes one studio album, one live album, two EPs, and fourteen singles performed by Kessoku Band, a fictional rock band and the central group of the series. The band consists of lead guitarist Hitori Gotō, drummer and leader Nijika Ijichi, bassist Ryō Yamada, and guitarist and vocalist Ikuyo Kita.
