MB Roland Distillery is a Pembroke, Kentucky based craft distillery, opened in 2009. It is known as Kentucky's first modern completely "grain to glass" craft distillery. [1]
The MB Roland Distillery was founded by Paul & Merry Beth ("MB") Tomaszewski in 2009. The site of the distillery sits on a former Amish family farm, [2] which serves as the home for the visitor center, rickhouse and distillery. [3]
The distillery offers 23 different spirits, including moonshine, malt whiskey, corn whiskey, wheat whiskey, rye whiskey, bourbon whiskey, and other flavored moonshines. The final strength of their whiskeys is typically 105-120 proof. [3]

Master distiller is a title often used for a distilling expert or a key leader or owner at modern distilleries. The title doesn't have a fixed definition and can mean different things at different companies. Although the craft of distilling has existed for centuries throughout history, the term "master distiller" only dates back as far as the 1800s when it was first used to acknowledge the distilling expertise and knowledge a person gained after practicing and perfecting the craft of distilling for many years. In more recent usage, the term can have a much broader meaning and is sometimes used for owners and company leaders who run their companies but do not actively create the distilling recipes and processes used at their distilleries.
Walter “Wattie” Boone, was a pioneer distiller. He built the first distillery in the area of Knob Creek in LaRue County. Historians agree that Boone was one of the first to be documented producing Bourbon whiskey in Kentucky in 1776. According to local folklore the father of Abraham Lincoln, Thomas accepted a job at the Boone Distillery in 1814.
