It operates bus, paratransit services and a hybrid rail system known as CapMetro Rail in Austin and several suburbs in Travis and Williamson counties. In 2023, the system had a ridership of 25,229,400, or about 81,200 per weekday as of the first quarter of 2024.
CapMetro Rail is a hybrid rail system that serves the Greater Austin area in Texas and is owned by CapMetro, Austin's primary public transportation provider. The Red Line is CapMetro's first and currently only rail line, and connects Downtown Austin with Austin's northwestern suburbs. The line operates on 32 miles (51 km) of existing freight tracks, and serves 10 stations. After a series of delays, CapMetro Rail was inaugurated in March 2010. CapMetro added Friday evening and Saturday afternoon and evening regularly scheduled service on March 23, 2012. In 2023, the line had a ridership of 485,400, or about 1,800 per weekday as of the first quarter of 2024.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Station at J.B. Jackson, Jr. Transit Center is an intermodal public transit facility in Dallas, Texas operated by Dallas Area Rapid Transit. The facility is situated in South Dallas, where it serves the Green Line, four bus routes, and a curb-to-curb transit zone.
Fair Park station is a DART Light Rail station located in Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. It serves the Green Line. The station opened on September 14, 2009 as part of the first phase of the line, which stretched from Deep Ellum to MLK Jr.

Plaza Saltillo station is a CapMetro Rail hybrid rail station in Austin, Texas. It is located in East Austin at the corner of Fifth and Comal Street adjacent to the Plaza Saltillo complex which, in turn, was built in 1998 as a result of a collaborative effort between the city of Austin, the city of Saltillo, Capital Metro and Ole Mexico, an east Austin cultural group. To smoothly incorporate the station in the existing plaza layout and still ensure ADA accessibility, the platform was built with a unique "split ramp" layout, with two high-level sections split by a pair of wheelchair ramps. Railcars stop with their doors aligned with the high-level platform sections, providing level access. With Project Connect, the Green Line will also stop at this station.
Downtown station is a CapMetro Rail hybrid rail station in Austin, Texas. It is located in Downtown Austin at the corner of Fourth and Neches Street behind the Austin Convention Center. It is the current southern terminus of the Red Line. It was also the smallest, but busiest CapMetro Rail station, before it was rebuilt and expanded.
Highland station is a CapMetro Rail hybrid rail station in Austin, Texas. It is located in northeast Austin at the intersection of Airport Boulevard and Highland Mall Boulevard, just northwest of the I-35/Highway 290 interchange directly across the street from Highland Mall.

It also is co-located with the Lakeline Park and Ride and serves Lakeline Mall which is a mile away. Lakeline is one of two stations located within Williamson County alongside Leander station as opposed to Travis County which contains the other eight stations.

The Blue Line is a planned light rail line for connecting Austin–Bergstrom International Airport with downtown Austin, Texas. It is still in the planning stages as a part of CapMetro's Project Connect. It is estimated to begin revenue service as early as 2029.
The Green Line is a proposed commuter rail line for connecting the Northeast Austin area of Colony Park with the downtown Austin, Texas area in the United States. It is still in the planning stages as a part of CapMetro's Project Connect.

As part of Project Connect, a CapMetro Rail light rail station is planned to be built at the facility; it is planned to be the northern terminus of the system.
South Congress Transit Center is a Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus station in Austin, Texas. It is located off of Radam Lane on the south side of Ben White Boulevard, just west of South Congress Avenue in the SoCo area of Austin, Texas. The station features a park and ride lot and is served by several local bus routes as well as CapMetro Rapid Route 801. As part of a future phase of Project Connect, a CapMetro Rail light rail station is expected to be built at the facility.
Broadmoor station is a planned CapMetro Rail hybrid rail infill station in Austin, Texas. The station is being built to improve access to The Domain, a major high-density business, retail, and residential center. Construction was expected to begin in September 2020 with service starting in 2022, but was delayed until the station's groundbreaking on January 18, 2022, thereby pushing the opening date back to 2024. Upon opening of the new station as well as the forthcoming McKalla station at Austin FC's Q2 Stadium, the nearby Kramer station is expected to close. Brandywine Realty and the Charles Schwab Corporation contributed funds for the station's construction.
CapMetro Bus is the bus public transit service of the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (CapMetro) of Austin, Texas and serves Austin and the surrounding areas. MetroBus services include 82 standard routes and 15 high-frequency bus routes as of August 2021. It has several categories of routes: Local, Flyer and Limited, Feeder, Crosstown, Special services and UT Shuttles. CapMetro also operates an express bus service, MetroExpress, and a bus rapid transit service, CapMetro Rapid, in addition to the agency's commuter rail service, CapMetro Rail. In 2023, the bus system had a ridership of 23,445,900, or about 74,400 per weekday as of the first quarter of 2024.
