Leander station

Leander station is a CapMetro Rail hybrid rail station and park and ride in Leander, Texas. The park and ride portion of it, designed by McKinney York Architects, was built in 2007 and is located on Highway 183 just north of FM 2243 and is the northern terminus of the Red Line. [2] Leander station is one of two stations located within Williamson County alongside Lakeline station as opposed to Travis County which contains the other seven locations. Leander station includes a park and ride with 600 spaces. [3]

CapMetro Rail is a hybrid rail system that serves the Greater Austin area in Texas and is owned by CapMetro, Austin's primary public transportation provider. The Red Line is CapMetro's first and currently only rail line, and connects Downtown Austin with Austin's northwestern suburbs. The line operates on 32 miles (51 km) of existing freight tracks, and serves 10 stations. After a series of delays, CapMetro Rail was inaugurated in March 2010. CapMetro added Friday evening and Saturday afternoon and evening regularly scheduled service on March 23, 2012. In 2023, the line had a ridership of 485,400, or about 1,800 per weekday as of the first quarter of 2024.

McKalla station is a CapMetro Rail hybrid rail station in Austin, Texas, United States. The station was built to provide convenient access to Q2 Stadium. Ground broke on construction on July 18, 2022, and the new station opened on February 24, 2024, coinciding with the first home match of Austin FC's 2024 season. The station opened at 10:00 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, with rides being free. Construction costs were estimated at $13 million, with total costs estimated at $60 million. The station is double-tracked, includes two regular service side platforms, with the southbound platform serving both northbound and southbound trains during special events and a gated walkway to the east side of the tracks. Soon after opening of the new station, along with Broadmoor station to the north, nearby Kramer station is expected to be closed. The station was designed and constructed by Stacy Witbeck. Finishing touches for the station are expected to be completed in April or May 2024.
