Super Series (2023) was a professional wrestling supercard event produced by Major League Wrestling (MLW), in conjunction with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) and Promociones EMW (EMW). It took place on February 10, 2023, at Auditorio Fausto Gutierrez Moreno in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
It was the third event in the MLW Super Series chronology, following the 2022 event in Georgia, and served as a television taping for the new season of MLW Fusion that premiered on May 25, 2023. [1] [2] [3]
On March 13, 2020, Major League Wrestling (MLW) held their inaugural Super Series event, titled AAA vs. MLW Super Series. [4] [5] The event was held in collaboration with the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) and Promociones EMW (EMW) promotions at Auditorio Fausto Gutierrez Moreno in Tijuana. [4] [5] Over two years later, on September 18, 2022, a second Super Series event was held at the Space Event Center in Norcross, Georgia. [6] [7] The event was held in collaboration with AAA and the Japan-based Dragon Gate group. [8] [9]
On February 10, 2023, MLW held a third Super Series event, in collaboration with AAA and EMW, with the event returning to Tijuana's Auditorio Fausto Gutierrez Moreno. [10] [11]
Super Series featured eight professional wrestling matches that featured wrestlers involved in scripted feuds. The wrestlers portrayed either heels (referred to as rudos in Mexico, those that play the part of the "bad guys"), faces (técnicos in Mexico, the "good guy" characters), or less distinguishable characters ("tweeners") as they performed. Major League Wrestling (MLW) is an American professional wrestling promotion based in New Rochelle, New York. The promotion was founded in 2002 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by former WWE writer Court Bauer. The promotion markets its product as "Hybrid Wrestling", with its roster featuring a mix of different wrestling styles.
Triplemanía II-B was a major lucha libre, or professional wrestling event Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) that took place at Auditorio Benito Juárez in Zapopan, Jalisco on May 15, 1994. The show was the second of three Triplemanía II shows held in 1994, preceded by Triplemanía II-A, with a subsequent show held in 12 days later. 1994 was the first year AAA held multiple Triplemanía shows in a year, a tradition they would continue through 1997, after which Triplemanía became a single annual event. The annual Triplemanía show(s) are AAA's biggest show of the year, serving as the culmination of major storylines and feature wrestlers from all over the world competing in what has been described as AAA's version of WrestleMania or their Super Bowl event.

The championship cannot be competed for by anyone who is over the Cruiserweight division weight limit of 105 kg (231 lb). Traditionally this division is labelled as the "Junior Heavyweight" division in Mexico while "Cruiserweight" is a term more used in the United States or Canada.

As the name implies the show celebrated the 15th Anniversary of the construction of Arena Naucalpan, Promociones Morenos main venue, in 1977. In 1996 Promociones Moreno became International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), maintaining the annual Arena Naucalpan Anniversary tradition. The show became IWRG's longest-running show and is the fourth oldest, still held annual show in professional wrestling.

The Crash Lucha Libre, also referred to as simply The Crash, is a lucha libre promotion based in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. The promotion largely runs its events in Tijuana, Mexico City, and Monterrey. The promotion currently has working relationships with American promotions DEFY Wrestling, PCW ULTRA, and International Wrestling Revolution Group and Promociones MDA, China's Oriental Wrestling Entertainment. The Crash previously had a working relationship with Impact Wrestling in US/Canada, Mexico's Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and Japan's Pro Wrestling Noah between 2016 and 2018, until Konnan, the intermediary between the promotions, left The Crash. On February 21, 2019 The Crash announced a partnership with Mexico's Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, America's Ring of Honor and Japan's New Japan Pro-Wrestling which would later on that year end in late September, on August 12, 2019, Major League Wrestling and The Crash Lucha Libre announced a working relationship which ended in November of that year when Major League Wrestling would work full time with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.
