Jack Colleran [1] (born May 1993), known professionally as MMOTHS, is an Irish electronic musician. [2]

Biography

Colleran was born in Newbridge, County Kildare. [1] [3] He has played piano since he was five years old. He played in several bands while in school and, in 2011, began making music on his laptop using a demo version of Ableton Live. He released the demo on SoundCloud a week later under the stage name MMOTHS. [4] [5] [6]

Having released a number of tracks on SoundCloud, MMOTHS was approached by and then signed to Los Angeles music label SQE Music. [3] [4] SQE released his self-titled debut EP in March 2012, which featured guest vocals from Superhumanoids and Keep Shelly in Athens. [5] [7] The EP was described by This Is Fake DIY as "an utterly beautiful blend of electronics that are somehow crafted to evolve with an aching sense of soulful intimacy". [8]

MMOTHS performed at the South by Southwest festival in April 2012. [3] In August, he supported At the Drive-In at the O2 Academy in Brixton, and he has also opened for Aphex Twin. [9] [10]

MMOTHS' EP entitled Diaries was released 5 March 2013 and features vocals by Holly Miranda and Young & Sick. [11]

Band of Skulls are an English rock band from Southampton, consisting of Russell Marsden and Emma Richardson ; Matt Hayward was previously a member. The group formed after meeting in college, although Marsden and Hayward have been friends since high school. Young & Sick is an American music and art project. The solo project is the brainchild of Dutch artist Nick van Hofwegen, described as a "double threat" in art and music by the Wall Street Journal, who is responsible for the project's musical composition, production, and performance, as well as all artwork. Young & Sick is currently releasing music with Neon Gold Records and B3Sci Records and was previously signed to Harvest Records. He has created artwork for a variety of well known entertainers including Foster the People, The Velvet Teen, Maroon 5, Robin Thicke, Mikky Ekko, T. Mills, Andy Dick, Jerry Stiller, L.A. Salami and others. In 2014, Zane Lowe and BBC Radio 1 called Young & Sick the "Next Hype" and the project was named Stereogum's "Band to Watch."

Darkside is an American band based in New York City. The band was formed in Providence, Rhode Island in 2011 by electronic musician Nicolás Jaar and multi-instrumentalist Dave Harrington, both of whom were students at Brown University at the time. Their debut studio album, Psychic, was released in 2013 and was followed up by Spiral, released in 2021 after a hiatus.

The Tuts were an English DIY pop punk, "three-tone" band from Hayes, Greater London. They received extensive coverage from alternative music radio, most notably Amazing Radio, and from music websites such as Louder Than War which published multiple articles on the group, calling them "one of the UK's most exciting bands". The band, particularly frontwoman Nadia Javed, were the subject of a feature in the ITV series Young, British and Muslim in April 2018.
