The wingspan is about 23 mm (0.91 in). The larva feeds on Pinus banksiana .

Octoraro Creek is a 22.1-mile-long (35.6 km) tributary of the Susquehanna River, joining it 9 miles (14 km) above the Susquehanna's mouth at Chesapeake Bay. Kamiak Butte County Park is located in Whitman County, Washington between the towns of Palouse and Pullman in Eastern Washington, near the border of Idaho. It is named after Chief Kamiakin of the Yakama tribe. Most of the park's 298 acres (121 ha) consist of timberland on the northern slopes of Kamiak Butte. The park includes Pine Ridge Trail, a National Recreation Trail within the National Trails System. Kamiak Butte and nearby Steptoe Butte comprise Steptoe and Kamiak Buttes National Natural Landmark. This 1,144-acre (463 ha) area, designated in 1965, includes land in state and county ownership.

Dickey Mountain is a mountain in Thornton, New Hampshire, United States. It is part of the White Mountains and has a summit that is 2,734 feet (833 m) above sea level. The mountain has an exposed summit which is accessible via the Welch-Dickey trail, a 4.4-mile (7.1 km) loop which also crosses Welch Mountain. It is one of five places in New Hampshire which is home to the jack pine.

I.D. Fairchild State Forest is a 2,760-acre (1,120 ha) nature preserve in Cherokee County, Texas. It is the largest state forest in Texas and includes 10 miles of hiking trails. The main unit is located just west of the community of Maydelle on Texas State Highway 84. It is open to the public for hiking, horseback riding, picnicking, wildlife viewing, and biking. The Texas A&M Forest Service uses the area for demonstration and research as well as to conserve southern yellow pine ecosystems. The Texas State Railroad also runs through the forest.
