Maciej Ruczaj (born 1983) is a Polish political scientist and diplomat,since 2023 serving as Poland ambassador to Slovakia.
Ruczaj was born in 1983 [1] in Poznań. [2] He moved to Prague with his parents in late 1990s. [2] He graduated from political science and international relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences,Charles University,as well as English studies and the Faculty of Arts,Charles University. [3] His M.A. thesis on Flann O'Brien was awarded with Mathesius Award (2007). [4] In 2015,he defended at the Charles University he defended his doctoral thesis on Patrick Pearse. [2]
As a journalist and opinion journalist he has been publishing on Polish,Czech and Slovak history,literature and society in several media, [2] e.g. "Lidovénoviny", [5] Echo24 , [6] "Międzynarodowy Przegląd Polityczny ", [7] .týždeň. [8]
In late 2000s,he started his diplomatic career at the Polish Institute in Prague, [9] since 2010 as a head of the unit. From 14 November 2016 to October 2023,he held the post of its director. [10] He was member of the Czech Program Council of the Polish–Czech Forum. [11]
On 14 October 2023,he took the post of Polish ambassador to Slovakia, [12] presenting his letter of credence to the President Zuzana Čaputová on 15 November 2023. [13]
Besides Polish,he speaks fluently English and Czech. He has also knowledge of Spanish,Italian and Slovak languages. [10]

Moravians are a West Slavic ethnographic group from the Moravia region of the Czech Republic, who speak the Moravian dialects of Czech or Common Czech or a mixed form of both. Along with the Silesians of the Czech Republic, a part of the population to identify ethnically as Moravian has registered in Czech censuses since 1991. The figure has fluctuated and in the 2011 census, 6.01% of the Czech population declared Moravian as their ethnicity. Smaller pockets of people declaring Moravian ethnicity are also native to neighboring Slovakia.

Jan Černý was a Czechoslovak civil servant and politician. He was the prime minister of Czechoslovakia from 1920 to 1921 and in 1926. He also served as the provincial president (governor) of Moravia in 1918–1920, 1921–1928 and 1929–1939.
Moravian Wallachia is a mountainous ethnoregion located in the easternmost part of Moravia in the Czech Republic, near the Slovak border, roughly centered on the cities Vsetín, Valašské Meziříčí and Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. The name Wallachia used to be applied to all the highlands of Moravia and the neighboring Silesia, although in the 19th century a smaller area came to be defined as ethno-cultural Moravian Wallachia. High-speed rail in the Czech Republic is being planned with construction start in 2026 and maximum speed between 200 and 320 km/h. Although České Dráhy own and operate multiple rolling stock capable of speeds of 230 km/h (143 mph) since 2004, there is as of 2023 no infrastructure capable of velocity over 200 km/h (124 mph). The Moravians were a West Slavic tribe in the Early Middle Ages. Although it is not known exactly when the Moravian tribe was founded, Czech historian Dušan Třeštík claimed that the tribe was formed between the turn of the 6th century to the 7th century, around the same time as the other Slavic tribes. In the 9th century Moravians settled mainly around the historic region of Moravia and Western Slovakia, but also in parts of Lower Austria and Upper Hungary.
ANO 2011, often shortened to simply ANO, the initials meaning Action of Dissatisfied Citizens, is a populist political party in the Czech Republic. The party has been labelled as centrist on the political spectrum by some sources, while others state that it is a centre-right party. At the European level ANO is a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party and the Renew Europe group in the European Parliament. The party is led by entrepreneur Andrej Babiš, who served as Prime Minister in 2017–2021.

Monastery of St. Job of Pochaev in Ladomirová was an Eastern Orthodox monastery that operated from 1923 to 1946 in the village of Ladomirová. The monastery was formally under the jurisdiction of the Mukachevo-Prešov diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church, but in fact the leadership was carried out by Vitaly (Maksimenko) of Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. Many famous clergy and monks of the ROCOR lived in the monastery. The monastery, which had its own printing house, was known for its energetic and large-scale activities in publishing and distributing religious literature. The Brotherhood played an important role in spreading Orthodoxy in Slovakia.
