The Egyptian Armed Forces are the military forces of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces directs (a) army field forces,without any separate Egyptian Army headquarters;(b) the Egyptian Navy,(c) Egyptian Air Force and (d) Egyptian Air Defense Forces.
A commander-in-chief or supreme commander is the person who exercises supreme command and control over an armed force or a military branch. As a technical term,it refers to military competencies that reside in a country's executive leadership,a head of state,head of government,or other designated government official.
Émile Jamil Lahoud is a Lebanese politician who served as the 11th president of Lebanon from 1998 to 2007. During his presidency,the Israeli occupation of Southern Lebanon that had lasted since 1982 ended in May 2000. He downplayed sectarianism and rearmed the Lebanese army,with help from Syria. Lahoud was closely allied to Syrian president Bashar al-Assad during the Syrian occupation of Lebanon,and was seen as playing a key role in preserving the occupation.
Ahmed Nazif served as the Prime Minister of Egypt from 14 July 2004 to 29 January 2011,when his cabinet was dismissed by President Hosni Mubarak in light of a popular uprising that led to the Egyptian Revolution of 2011. Nazif was Acting President of Egypt from 5 March to 15 April 2010,when President Mubarak delegated his authorities to Nazif while undergoing surgery in Germany.
Ahmed Aboul Gheit is an Egyptian politician and diplomat. He has been Secretary-General of the Arab League since July 2016. He was reappointed for a second term on 3 March 2021. Aboul-Gheit served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt from 11 July 2004 to 6 March 2011. Previously,between 1999 and 2004,he was Egypt's Permanent Representative to the United Nations. He was succeeded as Minister of Foreign Affairs by ICJ judge Nabil Elaraby in March 2011,following the overthrow of President Hosni Mubarak. He was elected Secretary-General of the Arab League in March 2016,and his term commenced on 3 July 2016.

Muhammad Hussein Tantawi Soliman was an Egyptian field marshal and politician. He was the commander-in-chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and,as chairman of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces,was the de facto head of state from the ousting of President Hosni Mubarak on 11 February 2011 until the inauguration of Mohamed Morsi as president of Egypt on 30 June 2012.

Major General Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri (Retd.),AVSM,is an Indian politician. He was Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 2007 to 2009 and 2011 to 2012. He was a Member of Parliament in the 16th Lok Sabha representing the Garhwal parliamentary constituency of Uttarakhand and is a senior member of the Bharatiya Janta Party. Essam Abdel-Aziz Sharaf is an Egyptian academic who was the Prime Minister of Egypt from 3 March 2011 to 7 December 2011. He served as Minister of Transportation from 2004 to 2005.
Charles Louis de Saulces de Freycinet was a French statesman who served four times as Prime Minister during the Third Republic. He also served an important term as Minister of War (1888–1893). He belonged to the Moderate Republican faction.
Hesham Mohamed Qandil is an Egyptian engineer and civil servant who was Prime Minister of Egypt from 2012 to 2013. Qandil was appointed as prime minister by President Mohamed Morsi on 24 July 2012 and sworn in on 2 August 2012. Qandil previously served as Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation from 2011 to 2012.

It also handles the affairs of colleges and military recruitment,mobilization and management of veterans and military factories in Egypt through the Armed Forces Management and Administration Agency. It was established in 1879 in the Khedivate of Egypt and was then called the Ministry of War,until it was renamed to the Ministry of Defense on 14 May 1971. Egypt's Ministry of Defense is based in Cairo and the headquarters is called The Octagon,located in the New Administrative Capital.
Majdi Khaldi is a Palestinian diplomat and ambassador. He is the senior diplomatic advisor to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas,holding the rank of minister. Khaldi has previously served in the Palestinian National Authority from 1994 through 2006 in multiple roles,including deputy minister of foreign affairs,acting deputy minister of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation,and director general of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation. Khaldi was also a member of the Palestinian negotiations support team for the implementation of the Oslo Accords with Israel. He is a current member of the Palestinian National Council.
