Mai Kuraki Symphonic Collection in Moscow is the first self-cover and orchestral album released by the Japanese singer Mai Kuraki. It was released on 19 December 2012 on the Northern Music label. Though from the official website, it is considered as a music video album.

Background

The track list consist of Mai Kuraki's hit collection orchestrally re-arranged by Ikurō Fujiwara. [1] Upon its release, success in both charting performance and popularity among the fans, she continues holding special orchestral live performances in years 2012, 2014, 2015, 2022 and 2023 and received live-video album released as well. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

Production

The album consist of 2 discs in regular edition and 3 discs in the limited edition of release. [7] Disc one includes music videoclip of originally new written song for the album, "Hakanasa", composed by Fujiwara. [7] Disc two includes recordings accompanied by Moscow Symphonic Orchestra and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. [1] [7] The third disc from the limited edition of release includes documentary footage of making and recording of the album. [7]

The song "Hakanasa" originally composed in 2008 and performed in under the Chinese title "Huà Xīn" (画心) by Jane Zhang, served as a theme song to the movie Painted Skin released in the same year. [8] The lyrics for the Japanese version has been rewritten by Kuraki herself. [8] "Hakanasa" has been later included in the 2014 compilation album Mai Kuraki Best 151A: Love & Hope and in 2019 compilation album Mai Kuraki Single Collection: Chance for You.

Chart performance

The album reached at number 15 on the Oricon Weekly Albums Chart charting for five consecutive weeks. [9]

Mai Kuraki Single Collection: Chance for You is the fifth compilation album and first single collection by Japanese singer-songwriter Mai Kuraki. It was released on 25 December 2019 by Northern Music, in commemoration of Kuraki's 20th anniversary since her debut. Japanese singer-songwriter Mai Kuraki has released twenty-five video albums and three video singles, and been featured in sixty-six music videos, two television series, and eleven commercials. Kuraki debuted in 1999, while she was still in high school, through Giza Studio. The label initially marketed Kuraki in the United States under the name Mai K, and released the single "Baby I Like" (1999). However, the single was a commercial failure which prompted the label to send her back to Japan. There, they released her single "Love, Day After Tomorrow", which peaked at number two on the Oricon Singles Chart and was certified million by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAJ). The second single, "Stay by My Side" became her first number one single on the chart. Kuraki's debut album, Delicious Way, topped the Oricon Albums Chart and was certified triple million by the RIAJ.

all at once (オールアットワンス) are a J-pop duo formed in 2018. The duo was formed when its member, Itsuki, asked Narito to be his duo member when they had to perform at the event sponsored by the music school in Tokyo, where they both graduated. Ikurō Fujiwara is a Japanese pianist, composer, conductor and musical producer signed under Being Inc. He is Pops Executive Producer in the Pacific Philharmonia Tokyo orchestra.
