Major League Futsal USA was the first professional futsal league in the United States. It was founded in 2012 by Rosario Lopez.
MLF had two divisions (Division of Honor and Division 1) for both men and women. While 35 men's teams and 9 women's teams were listed by the company, 14 of these men's teams and 7 of women's did not play in the 2017 season.
The first exhibition season was played in 2015. A full season was contested in 2016 with a national tournament to conclude the season in August. Safira FC defeated KnowEns Futsal 5-1 in the final to claim the first league title.
Season two saw Detroit-based Waza Flo defeat Oregon Portland United in the championship.

The United States Soccer Federation (USSF), commonly referred to as U.S. Soccer, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and the official governing body of the sport of soccer in the United States. Headquartered in Chicago, the federation is a full member of FIFA and governs American soccer at the international, professional, and amateur levels, including: the men's and women's national teams, Major League Soccer, National Women's Soccer League, youth organizations, beach soccer, futsal, Paralympic, and deaf national teams. Bruce Edward Murray is an American former professional soccer player who at the time of his retirement was the all-time leading scorer for the United States men's national soccer team. His standout college career led to his selection by Soccer America Magazine to its College Team of the Century. He then played professionally in both Europe and the United States, including the American Soccer League and American Professional Soccer League. Concussion syndrome forced him to retire in 1995, Murray had earned 86 caps, scoring 21 goals, including one at the 1990 FIFA World Cup. He was also a member of the U.S. national futsal team which placed third at the 1989 FIFA Futsal World Championship. Murray is the Direct of Coaching at Accelerator School DC Metro. He is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

James Michael Gabarra is an American retired soccer forward who coached the Washington Spirit National Women's Soccer League team, and previously coached Sky Blue FC and the Washington Freedom women's soccer teams. He played professionally in the American Soccer League, United Soccer League, American Indoor Soccer Association, Major Indoor Soccer League and Western Soccer Alliance.
The Long Island Rough Riders, formerly known as the Long Island Lady Riders, is an American women's soccer team, based out of Long Island, New York. Founded in 1994, the team was under the ownership of Chuck Jacob, who at the time also owned the men's Long Island Rough Riders up until 1997 before selling it to Frank Boulton. At this time, the Rough Riders transitioned names and became known as the Lady Riders for several years. In 2007, the Rough Riders acquired territorial and franchise rights to the women's Lady Riders team. For the first time since 1997, the men's and women's teams would be under the same name and they have been ever since. The Rough Riders were an original member of the USL W-League and played in all 21 seasons before the league disbanded in late 2015. The team was a member of United Women's Soccer from 2016-2021. They now play in the second version of the USL W League.
Cuauhtemoc “Temoc” Suarez is a retired American soccer player who spent three seasons in Major League Soccer, two in the National Professional Soccer League and five in the USL First Division. Suarez played for the United States Under-17 national team and also for the national futsal squad.
Swieqi United Football Club is a Maltese football and futsal club representing the municipality of Swieqi. The club was created by a group of University Students and Swieqi residents. Founded in 2009, the club enjoys a good fan-base especially amongst young people on the island. The team plays in Orange shirts and use blue as the away kit. The club is renowned for giving young players the opportunity to play football and the club's symbol is the Owl – a reference to the students who founded Swieqi United F.C.

Alexandra Linsley Long is an American soccer player who plays as a midfielder. She played for Portland Thorns FC, Seattle Reign FC, and NJ/NY Gotham FC in the National Women's Soccer League, and represented the United States national team. She made her debut for the national team on May 8, 2014, in a friendly against Canada. She has since made 45 total appearances for the team.
The Malaysia Premier Futsal League, commonly abbreviated as MPFL, is a men's professional futsal league sanctioned by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM). It was previously known as the Liga Futsal Kebangsaan (LFK). Successful MPFL teams qualify for Asian continental club competitions, including the AFC Futsal Club Championship and AFF Futsal Club Championship. MPFL currently does not practice promotion and relegation. Since the league's inception in 2004, 8 teams have been crowned champions. Selangor have been the most successful team with 3 titles, followed by Figos RSA (2), Felda United (2), Melaka (2), PDRM (1), AOB Teras Selatan (1), Johor (1), PKNS (1) and Pahang Rangers (1).
