Divinyls were an Australian rock band that were formed in Sydney in 1980. The band primarily consisted of vocalist Chrissy Amphlett and guitarist Mark McEntee. Amphlett garnered widespread attention for performing on stage in a school uniform and fishnet stockings, and she often used an illuminated neon tube as a prop for displaying aggression towards both band members and the audience. Originally a five-piece, the band underwent numerous line-up changes, with Amphlett and McEntee remaining as core members, before its dissolution in 1996.
The Swing is the fourth studio album by Australian rock band INXS, released on 21 March 1984. It peaked at number one on the Kent Music Report Albums Chart for five non-consecutive weeks from early April to mid-May 1984. The lead single "Original Sin" was recorded in New York City with Nile Rodgers and featured Daryl Hall on backing vocals. Desperate is the debut studio album and second overall album by Australian rock band Divinyls, released in 1983 by Chrysalis Records. The album contains the singles "Science Fiction" and "Siren " and "Casual Encounter". The international version included the single "Boys in Town" from Monkey Grip.
Monkey Grip is a soundtrack to the film of the same name, with songs provided by the Divinyls. The movie is an adaptation by director Ken Cameron of Helen Garner's novel Monkey Grip. The movie had little impact at the box office, taking only A$451,000. The soundtrack was released in May 1982 and peaked at #25 on the Australian Kent Music Report album chart. The soundtrack contains the band's first single, "Boys in Town", as well as "Only Lonely", "Elsie" and "Only You" – all of which are featured on the international version of the Divinyls' first studio album, Desperate. Monkey Grip also features two other songs "Gonna Get You" and "Girlfriends". Christina Amphlett also co-starred in the movie Monkey Grip, playing a temperamental rock singer loosely based on herself, fronting a band played by fellow Divinyls members.
Underworld is the fifth and final studio album by Australian band Divinyls, released on November 11 1996 by BMG Records. It was the band's first studio album release in five years and their final release with original lead singer Chrissy Amphlett. The lead single "I'm Jealous" had been successful when released in 1995, however this did not have an effect on the album as Underworld was supposed to be released in the 3rd quarter of 1995, but the album was delayed repeatedly due to production problems. Underworld debuted and peaked at number forty-seven on the ARIA Albums Chart and was their last charting album.

Best in Show is a compilation album by Australian post-grunge band Grinspoon. The album was released on 7 November 2005 to coincide with the ten-year anniversary of the band. The album peaked at No. 12 on the ARIA Albums Chart and was certified Gold. The album featured the band's hits and several older songs, like "Champion", which landed the song on Gran Turismo 3. The first track, "Sweet as Sugar", was specially recorded for this album and, appropriately, is a return to the earlier style of the band. The rest of the tracks are listed chronologically, from "Champion", recorded in 1996, to "Hard Act to Follow", recorded in 2004. The liner notes contain photography of the band from their beginnings to the present, and details the history of the band in the form of a fairy tale about the 'Knights of Grinspoon' from the 'Land of Oz'. The limited edition bonus disc includes a collection of covers recorded over the years.

Camilleri has used various line-ups to record 17 albums, with five reaching the top 20 on the ARIA Albums Charts: Hold on to Me, Harley and Rose, Better Times, The Chosen Ones - Greatest Hits and Lucky Charm. Their top 40 singles are "Chained to the Wheel", "Harley + Rose" and "Snake Skin Shoes".
"Love in Motion" is the first new material released by the Australian rock synthpop band Icehouse as a 7" vinyl single-only in October 1981 on Regular Records for the Australian market. The band had been known as Flowers until 27 June 1981 after which they changed their name to Icehouse, they had signed to Chrysalis Records and most of Flowers' material was released under the new name into Europe, UK and US markets. "Love in Motion" peaked at #10 on the Australian singles charts. The B-side, "Goodnight, Mr. Matthews" was included on the 1982 album Primitive Man with "Love in Motion" included on the Chrysalis Records US / European versions of the album, the UK 1983 version of the album was re-titled Love in Motion.
Charles Lothian Lloyd "Charlie" Owen is an Australian multi-instrumentalist and producer. He has been a member of The New Christs (1987–90), Louis Tillett and His Cast of Aspersions (1990), Tex, Don and Charlie, Tendrils (1994–99) and Beasts of Bourbon. His solo album, Vertigo and Other Phobias, was released in 1994 on Red Eye/Polydor.

The song was written in 1979 and was used on the soundtrack of the 1982 film Monkey Grip, along with several other Divinyls tracks written and recorded for the film, including the single's b-side "Only You". "Boys in Town" was also included on the international version of the Divinyls 1983 debut studio album, Desperate. The song became a success in Australia, entering the singles chart top ten and peaking at number eight.
Simon Cyril Hussey is an Australian multi-instrumentalist, songwriter-arranger, record producer and audio engineer. In 1984 he formed Cats Under Pressure on keyboards with David Reyne on vocals and Mark Greig on guitar. On the Australian Crawl album Between a Rock and a Hard Place, Hussey co-wrote four tracks with the band's lead singer, James Reyne. In 1987 when James undertook his solo career, Hussey joined his backing band on keyboards, and co-wrote six tracks for James' debut self-titled album including top 10 hit singles, "Hammerhead" (October) and "Motor's Too Fast". In May 1988 Hussey was the producer, and provided keyboards and song writing, for Edge (November), the comeback album by Daryl Braithwaite (ex-Sherbet), which peaked at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for three weeks in mid-1989.
