Mani is a Local Government Area in Katsina State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is located in the town of Mani. Mani town was established more than 600 years ago while the Local Government was created in 1976 after the enactment of Local Government reforms act. Three other Local Governments (Mashi, Bindawa and Dutsi) were however carved from the Old Mani Local Government Area.
Traditionally, Mani is indisputably believed to be the root of the Sullubawa ruling dynasty of Katsina Emirate because the founder of the dynasty, Muhammadu Dikko, was the District Head of Mani during the reign of Sarkin Katsina Abubakar. From then onward, the traditional ruler of the District was known and called Durbin Katsina and one of the king makers of the emirate. Recently, the traditional title of the Head of the District was briefly changed to Sarkin Gabas Katsina and later reverted to the original title of Durbin Katsina.
Mani has an area of 784 km2 and a population of 176,966 at the 2006 census. Majority of its inhabitants are farmers and are of Fulani ethnicity. The town is arguable the most peaceful in whole of Nigeria.

The chairman of the LGA is Dr.Badamasi Lawal Charanchi, the population is approximately 79,000 (2003), and the area is 471 km2. The local government was created from the former Rimi local government in 1996. Currently there are 11 councillors representing their wards in the administration of the local government council. These councillors have the right to impeach the Local Government Chairman in case of any misconduct or misappropriation of the government's fund.

Alhaji Muhammadu Dikko also known as Muhammad Dikko dan Gidado, was the 47th Emir of Katsina from 9 November 1906 until his death in 1944. He was the ninth Fulani emir, as well as the first emir from the current ruling Sullubawa dynasty, succeeding Yero dan Musa, the last emir from the Dallazawa dynasty which was installed by the Jihad of Usman dan Fodio. He came to power shortly after British rule began in 1903 following the signing of a treaty between the then Emir, Abubakar dan Ibrahim, and British officials. He was a brother to Binta the paternal grand mother of Shehu Musa Yar'adua and Umaru Musa Yar'adua, he was succeeded by his son Usman Nagogo who held the title of Emir from 1944 until his death in 1981. He and his entourage were photographed on multiple occasions.
Ummarun Dallaje was the 39th Islamic Leader of Katsina, the first Fulani emir, as well as the patriarch of the Dallazawa dynasty. He became Amirul Muminin after the Jihad of Shehu Usman dan Fodiyo, succeeding Magajin Haladu, the last ruler of the centuries-old Habe dynasty, which founded by founded by Muhammadu Korau. Ummaru was succeeded by his son Saddiku.

TSAGEM is a ward head in Mani Local Government, Katsina State. It is situated on the northern part of Mani town. It is a predominantly Fulani village whose main occupation is farming and animal rearing. It has its indigenes scattered all over Nigeria engaging in one job or another. They are educated in both western and Islamic education. It has an area of 42 km2 and a population of 766 at the 2006 census.
Gates of Hausa kingdoms are gates or walls (ganuwa) that formerly enclosed Hausa kingdoms. In ancient times, each kingdom was enclosed with a wall that contained various gates. During battles, the gates were closed as a war strategy. Each gate has a name and a gatekeeper. In the past, especially at night, the gatekeeper was in charge of a single gate at all time.
