Puerto Peñasco is a small city located in Puerto Peñasco Municipality in the northwest of the Mexican state of Sonora, 100 kilometres (62 mi) from the border with the U.S. state of Arizona. It is located on the northern shores of the Sea of Cortez on the small strip of land that joins the Baja California Peninsula with the rest of Mexico. Playa de la Arena is a resort town located just south of the resorts of Los Gigantes and Puerto Santiago in the Santiago del Teide municipality on the West Coast of Tenerife, Spain. Close to Los Gigantes, the giant cliffs of the resort can be seen from across Playa De La Arena. The resort has many restaurants, bars and shops aimed mainly at tourists. Playa de la Arena's main business is tourism. The playa, is entirely of black, natural, volcanic sand. The beach is one of the cleanest on the island, and has been awarded the European Blue Flag for cleanliness for numerous years running.

In Spain, balneario typically only refers to spa town resorts. These resorts offer recreation, sports, entertainment, food, hospitality and safety services, retail, and cultural events. These balneario towns are characterized by being flooded by masses of tourists during the summer seasons.

Cibuco Swamp is a swamp located in northern Puerto Rico in the municipality of Vega Baja. The swamp is found at the mouth of the Cibuco River, in the barrios Cabo Caribe, Cibuco and Puerto Nuevo. The swamp is protected by the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DRNA) as the Cibuco Swamp Nature Reserve, and it is home to a large number of species of plants and animals. The nature reserve is open to visitors who are allowed to hike and bike, and the area is also popular for birdwatching.
Condado Beach is a large public-access beach located in El Condado, a district of Santurce in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is considered a dangerous beach with strong undercurrents.
El Escambrón Beach is a public-access beach located in the San Juan Antiguo sub-district (subbarrio) of Puerta de Tierra, next to the Luis Muñoz Rivera Park in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The beach and recreational complex are located on the grounds of the former Escambrón Beach Club and Hotel which featured a large swimming pool enclosed by breakwaters. Although the pool no longer exists, the beach is still enclosed by a series of coral reefs and other natural breakwaters, such as the Peñón de San Jorge reef, making it popular for swimmers and families.
