Marc Fornell Mestres (born 26 January 1982) is a professional tennis player from Spain. He has captured two ATP Challenger Series/Tour titles. [1] [2] Fornell Mestres's career-high ATP singles entry ranking is World No. 236, achieved on 19 November 2007.
On 31 December 2018, he was provisionally suspended from tennis for leading a match-fixing group. [3] In 2022, Fornell Mestres was convicted of match fixing and received a 2-year suspended prison sentence and a 450€ fine. He was also fined $250,000 and banned from professional tennis for 22 years and 6 months by the International Tennis Integrity Agency. [4] [5]

Daniel Köllerer is a former professional tennis player from Austria who turned professional in 2002 and was given a lifetime ban in 2011 for match fixing.

The practice of doping in tennis involves the use of prohibited, performance-enhancing substances listed by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The practice is considered unsportsmanlike and unethical, with punishments for such offences ranging from official warnings to career bans, depending on the severity of the offence.
The issue of match fixing in tennis is an ongoing problem. First reported on by The Sunday Telegraph in 2003, an organisation called the Tennis Integrity Unit was set up in 2008 following an investigation into the problem. In 2011, Daniel Köllerer became the first player to receive a lifetime ban from the sport due to match fixing. Later that year, the organisers of the Wimbledon tournament were provided a list of people suspected of involvement in the issue. In 2016 the BBC reported on "evidence of widespread suspected match-fixing at the top level of world tennis, including at Wimbledon", and in February 2019 the BBC said that tennis was a "sport riddled with corruption".
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) is the organisation responsible for safeguarding the integrity of professional tennis worldwide. It is an upgraded version of Tennis Integrity Unit (2008–2020). It was established following a comprehensive review of integrity in the sport.
