Marcus Woodson is an American football coach who was most recently the co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Woodson was fired on September 29 by Arkansas interim head coach Bobby Petrino. [1]
Woodson played for four years at Ole Miss. In those four years, he started two years at the safety position notching one interception. [2] [3] However, Woodson suffered a career-ending injury. [4]
Woodson started his coaching career at Millsaps as the defensive backs coach, where he stayed for three seasons. [5] From there, Woodson would be hired at Charleston Southern where he would assume the same role as defensive backs coach and would also become the team's recruiting coordinator. [6] [7] After Woodson's stint with Charleston Southern, he would become the defensive backs coach at Fresno State. [8] [9] After two years with Fresno State, Woodson would be hired by Memphis as the defensive backs coach. [10] [11]
After a two-year stint with Memphis, Woodson moved to Auburn to be the team's defensive backs coach. [12] [13] After one season with Auburn, Woodson received the role of recruiting coordinator. [14]
After two seasons with Auburn, Woodson became the defensive backs coach at Florida State. [15] [16] Then after three years with Florida State, Woodson got his first coordinator role as he was hired by Arkansas to be their co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach. [17] [18]
