Marc Nadon LL.L. is a supernumerary judge on the Canadian Federal Court of Appeal. He has practised law in both Quebec and the United Kingdom,focusing on maritime and transportation law. He was also an arbitrator and former lecturer in law at the Universitéde Sherbrooke. Nadon was nominated by Prime Minister Stephen Harper to be a puisne justice of the Supreme Court of Canada in October 2013. Following controversy about the appointment,the federal government referred the constitutionality of the appointment to the Supreme Court of Canada. In their decision in Reference Re Supreme Court Act,ss 5 and 6,the Supreme Court quashed his appointment,concluding he did not meet the eligibility criteria provided in the Supreme Court Act.
Lucie Lamarre was a judge of the Tax Court of Canada. She was appointed in 1993 and became Associate Chief Justice of the Court in 2015. She retired as Associate Chief Justice and from the Court in 2021.
Richard Wagner is a Canadian jurist serving as the 18th and current Chief Justice of Canada since 2017. He previously served as a puisne justice of the Quebec Court of Appeal (2011–2012) and of the Supreme Court of Canada (2012–2017). For several months in 2021,following Julie Payette's resignation as Canada's governor general,Wagner was the administrator of the government of Canada as well as chief justice.

It was also reported that,in 2006 in Ontario,"racialized women accounted for 16% of all lawyers under 30" and that only 1% of lawyers were Aboriginal.
Sheilah L. Martin is a puisne justice of the Supreme Court of Canada,having served in that role since December 18,2017. She was nominated to the court by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on November 29,2017. Before her appointment to Canada's highest court,Martin had served on the Court of Appeal of Alberta,the Court of Appeal for the Northwest Territories,and the Court of Appeal of Nunavut since 2016,and the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta from 2005 to 2016.
Mary T. Moreau is a Canadian jurist serving as a puisne justice on the Supreme Court of Canada since November 6,2023. She formerly served as the Chief Justice of the Court of King's Bench of Alberta from 2017–2023. Her formal welcoming to the Supreme Court of Canada occurred on February 19,2024.
