Career

Bassols Ribera made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the 2021 Palermo Ladies Open, in the singles and doubles events.

She entered the 2023 Monterrey Open as a lucky loser. She won her first WTA 125 title at the 2023 Ljubljana Open defeating Zeynep Sonmez in the final in straight sets. [2] She claimed her second WTA 125 title at the Andorrà Open defeating Erika Andreeva also in straight sets. [3]

Bassols Ribera entered the 2024 Transylvania Open, a WTA 250 tournament, as a lucky loser. [4]

It took place at the Tivoli Tennis Center in Ljubljana, Slovenia between 11 and 17 September 2023. It took place at the Poliesportiu d'Andorra in Andorra la Vella, the capital city of the principality of Andorra between 27 November and 3 December 2023.

Jeļena Ostapenko defeated Ekaterina Alexandrova in the final, 6–2, 6–3 to win the singles tennis title at the 2024 Linz Open. It was her eighth WTA singles title. She saved a match point in her second-round match against Clara Tauson.

Karolína Plíšková defeated Ana Bogdan in the final, 6–4, 6–3 to win the singles tennis title at the 2024 Transylvania Open. It was Plíšková's first title since the 2020 Brisbane International, and she didn't lose a set en route.

Iga Świątek defeated Maria Sakkari in the final, 6–4, 6–0 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2024 Indian Wells Open. It was her eighth WTA 1000 and 19th career WTA Tour title, and she did not lose a set en route. Świątek became the first woman to win multiple titles at Indian Wells since Victoria Azarenka in 2016, and just the tenth woman to do so overall. She was the first player since Maria Sharapova in 2013 to win the title without dropping a set, and lost just 21 games throughout the entire tournament; this was the fewest since Steffi Graf lost 16 games in 1994. The final was a rematch of the 2022 final, which Świątek also won.

The 2024 Fifth Third Charleston 125, sponsored by the Fifth Third Bank, was a professional women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 2nd edition of the tournament and part of the 2024 WTA 125 tournaments, offering a total of $115,000 in prize money. The first edition in 2021 was held on green clay but the surface was changed to hard in 2024. It took place at LTP Mount Pleasant in Charleston, South Carolina, United States from 11 to 16 March 2024.
