Marius Zug (born 6 February 2003) is a German racing driver who currently competes in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup for Winward Racing.
Marius Zug began karting in 2013. In 2017 he became Junior champion in the ADAC Kart Masters. In the fall of 2017 he tested Formula 4 cars but decided to stay in karting for 2018. [1]
In 2019 he made his debut in GT racing. He joined RN Vision STS in the GT4 European Series, driving a BMW M4 GT4. He won in the Pro-Am Cup in the first race of the season at Monza together with his teammate Gabriele Piana. [2] This win was followed by a win at Misano, a win at Zandvoort and two wins at the Nürburgring. Zug and Piana became vice-champions of the Pro-Am Cup. Zug also became the Junior champion.
In addition to the GT4 European Series the duo also drove in the ADAC GT4 Germany. They won the first race of the season at Oschersleben and the first race at Zandvoort. Zug and Piana became vice-champions once more.
In October 2019 Zug also completed his first race in a GT3 car. He competed in the final round of the Italian GT Championship for MRS GT Racing driving a BMW M6 GT3. [3]
In 2020 Zug stayed in the Italian GT Championship driving for BMW Team Italia. At the sixth round at Monza he claimed his first pole position and his first victory in the Italian GT Championship together with his teammate Stefano Comandini. [4] For 2021 he stayed with the same team, which had rebranded to Ceccato Racing. For the Sprint races he once again shared the car with Stefano Comabdini. For the Endurance races the pair were joined by Bruno Spengler. His best finish of the season was a third place which he achieved came in the second sprint race at Imola. [5]
In 2022 Zug will drive for Attempto Racing in Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II competing in both the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters and the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. [6] [7] After finishing runner-up in the Silver Cup class, Zug changed teams for 2023. The new season saw him join Winward Racing, driving alongside Miklas Born and David Schumacher in the Gold Cup class. [8]
Marius was born in Munich, Bavaria and currently resides in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm. He lists Simracing, Golf, Tennis and Cooking as his hobbies and names Juan Manuel Fangio as a rolemodel. [9] His younger sister Lilly is also a racing driver who competed in the Tourenwagen Junior Cup. [10]

Maxime Martin is a Belgian professional racing driver and son of four-time Spa 24 Hours winner Jean-Michel Martin. He currently is a BMW factory driver mainly competing in the GT World Challenge Europe driving for Team WRT. Martin had previously been a BMW factory driver between 2013 and 2017, racing full-time in the American Le Mans Series for BMW Team RLL in 2013, as well as acting as BMW's DTM test and reserve driver. In late 2013 at BMW Motorsport's yearly review, Martin was confirmed as a full-time BMW DTM driver for the 2014 season. In 2018 Martin joined Aston Martin Racing for which he competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship between 2018 and 2020.
W Racing Team is a Belgian auto racing team founded in 2009 by engineer and former head of Volkswagen Motorsport René Verbist, racing driver Vincent Vosse, and entrepreneur Yves Weerts. Between 2010 and 2022 the team campaigned Audi R8 LMSs in several international sports car series. In 2010 the team won the Belcar Drivers' and Teams' Championships, while in 2011 they won the Spa 24 Hours. After winning multiple titles in various GT championships, WRT is considered to be one of the best teams worldwide in GT racing. In 2019 and 2020 WRT ran two Audi RS5 Turbo DTMs in the highly competitive DTM championship. In 2021 WRT added a full time LMP2 program, by entering an Oreca 07 in both the FIA World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series, and won the LMP2 class of the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans. From 2023 on WRT switched their partnership in GT racing from Audi to BMW and will run the BMW M4 GT3. The team will also run two factory backed BMW M Hybrid V8s in the FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar category from 2024.
Alex Fontana is a Swiss racing driver currently racing as a professional driver in the 2023 GT World Challenge Europe for Car Collection Motorsport.
