Martensville is a city located in Saskatchewan, Canada, just 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) north of Saskatoon, 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) west of the city of Warman and 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) southwest of Clarkboro Ferry which crosses the South Saskatchewan River. It is a bedroom community of Saskatoon. It is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Corman Park No. 344. The community is served by the Saskatoon/Richter Field Aerodrome located immediately west of the city across Highway 12, as well as by Saskatoon's John G. Diefenbaker International Airport, only a few miles to the south.

It is located approximately 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of the city of Saskatoon, and 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of the city of Martensville. According to the 2021 census, Warman is the fastest growing municipality in Saskatchewan, and was the fastest growing municipality in Canada between 2011 and 2016. Warman is a bedroom community of Saskatoon. The current mayor is Gary Philipchuk.

The Blairmore Suburban Centre is a community service/commercial/residential community currently under development in western Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It is part of the city's Blairmore Suburban Development Area, a large region annexed from the Rural Municipality of Corman Park No. 344 in 2005. Ultimately, the SDA will consist of seven new neighbourhoods, plus the Blairmore Suburban Centre, which is the first component of the SDA to be developed.
Tommy Douglas Collegiate Institute is a high school located in the Blairmore Suburban Centre district of western Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, serving students from grades 9 through 12. It is named for Tommy Douglas, the "Father of Canadian Medicare," leader of the Saskatchewan Co-operative Commonwealth Federation and premier of Saskatchewan from 1944 to 1961. The school is unique among Saskatoon public schools in that it is the first to be physically connected to both a regional recreation complex and to a Catholic/separate school.

Kelly Block is a Canadian politician representing the electoral district of Carlton Trail—Eagle Creek since 2015. She was first elected in the 2008 Canadian federal election to serve as the Member of Parliament for the Saskatoon—Rosetown—Biggar district. Prior to her election to the House of Commons, Block served two terms as mayor of Waldheim, Saskatchewan. Block was Waldheim's first female mayor, and also served as chairperson of the Gabriel Springs Health District. Block was later appointed to the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority when the government of Saskatchewan amalgamated its health districts. Block ran unsuccessfully for the Saskatchewan Party nomination for the provincial Martensville constituency by-election in November 2006 against Nancy Heppner.
Saskatoon County was a provincial electoral division for the Legislative Assembly of the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Created as "Saskatoon" before the 1st Saskatchewan general election in 1905, the district encompassed the three communities that merged to form the city in 1906. A new urban riding was created for the rapidly growing city in 1908, with the existing rural constituency being redrawn and renamed Saskatoon County for the 2nd Saskatchewan general election. The riding was abolished into the districts of Rosthern and Hanley before the 8th Saskatchewan general election in 1934.

There were two similar events around the same time where an allegation of child sex abuse escalated into claims of satanic ritual abuse. The more widely known of the two is the Martensville Daycare Scandal, and the second but earlier story is of the Foster Parent Scandal in nearby Saskatoon.

Biggar-Sask Valley is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. It was created from parts of former Biggar, Martensville, Cut Knife-Turtleford, Batoche and Rosthern-Shellbrook ridings. It was first contested in the 2016 election. The riding will be dissolved into Kindersley-Biggar, Rosthern-Shellbrook, Rosetown-Delisle, Martensville-Blairmore and Warman prior to the next general election.

The 2020 Saskatchewan general election was held on October 26, 2020 to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. This date was set by Saskatchewan's fixed election date law. The writ was dropped on September 29 just in time to hold the election on October 26.
