Wrestling involves different grappling-type techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins, and other grappling holds. Many different wrestling techniques have been incorporated into martial arts, combat sports, and military systems. Wrestling can either be genuine competition or sportive entertainment.
Rulon Ellis Gardner is an American retired Greco-Roman wrestler. He competed at the 2000 and 2004 Olympics and won the gold medal in 2000, defeating Russia's three-time reigning Olympic gold medalist Aleksandr Karelin in the final. Karelin was previously unbeaten for 13 years in international competition. Gardner won a bronze medal at the 2004 Games. Usama Aziz, also known as Sami Aziz, is a Swedish retired wrestler and mixed martial artist. He competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics and the 1996 Summer Olympics. He finished 5th in the 1992 European Championships and another 5th place in the 1995 World Championships, both in the style of Greco-Roman. His mixed martial arts career started in 2005. He competed in organisations such as Bellator MMA and Bodog Fight. He retired in 2013, following a victory over former UFC Lightweight Champion Jens Pulver.
