The mayor of Skopje ( Macedonian : Градоначалник на Скопје; Albanian : Kryetari i Qytetit të Shkupit) is the city mayor who is representing North Macedonia's capital city Greater Skopje and all of its municipalities. Also, the mayor's decisions are confirmed or rejected by the City Council of Skopje ( Macedonian : Совет на Град Скопје; Albanian : Këshilli i Qytetit të Shkupit). Mayor cooperates with the municipal mayors of the city of Skopje, for building common views, common setting priorities and taking joint action on certain issues and problems of interest to the city as a whole. The current mayor of Skopje is Danela Arsovska .
The council of Skopje has in total 45 councilors which are elected in general, direct, free and democratic elections. The members of the City Council are elected with a mandate that lasts four years. Skopje is the capital and largest city of North Macedonia. It is the country's political, cultural, economic, and academic centre. Skopje lies in the Skopje Basin.
The Macedonian Alliance for European Integration (Macedonian Party) (Albanian: Aleanca Maqedonase për Integrimin Europian; Macedonian: Македонска Алијанса за Европска Интеграција) is a political party of the ethnic Macedonians in Albania. It was established on 30 October 2004 under the name Macedonian Alliance for European Integration and was registered as a political party on 8 June 2005. The first president of the party was Edmond Temelko, who was the mayor of the Pustec Municipality from 2007 until 2019. It first succeeded in electing an ethnic Macedonian to parliament in 2019, Vasil Sterjovski. Sterjovski himself was elected as the president of the party in September 2019. The party does not support the claims that a Bulgarian minority exists in Albania.
Skopje International Airport, also known as Skopje Airport and Petrovec Airport is the larger and busier of the two international airports in North Macedonia, with the other being the St. Paul the Apostle Airport in Ohrid, which is located 170 km (110 mi) southwest from the national capital Skopje. Museum of the City of Skopje is a cultural institution located in Skopje, North Macedonia. Founded in 1949, it is located in a former railway station built by the Ottomans, demolished and rebuilt by the Serbs, and partly destroyed in the 1963 earthquake. The museum is home to permanent еxhibitions representing the history of Skopje, from the first recorded settlements around 3000 BC to present.
The flag of Skopje is a red vertical banner in proportions 1:2 with the coat of arms of the city in golden-yellow placed in its left upper quarter. The coat of arms has the form of a shield and on it are pictured: the Stone Bridge with the Vardar River, the fortress Kale and the snowy peaks of a mountain.

Skopje 2014 was a project financed by the Macedonian government of the then-ruling nationalist party VMRO-DPMNE, with the official purpose of giving the capital Skopje a more classical appeal but designed more earthquake-proof. The project, officially announced in 2010, consisted mainly of the construction of colleges, museums and government buildings, as well as the erection of monuments depicting historical figures from the region of Macedonia. Around 20 buildings and over 40 monuments were to be constructed as part of the project.

It functions as a horizontalist coalition of local civic organizations and activists committed to environmentalism, social justice and animal rights. Its ideological underpinnings are anti-party politics and direct democracy. Green Humane City is the owner of the participatory platform MojGrad (MyCity).
The State Archive of the Republic of Macedonia - Department Skopje, more commonly known as the Historical Archive of Skopje is the primary institution responsible for preservation of archival materials in the City of Skopje and Skopje Statistical Region. Since 1990 the archive formally function as a regional centre of the State Archives of the Republic of North Macedonia.
