Meena Longjam is an independent documentary filmmaker from Manipur. [1] [2] [3] She is the first woman filmmaker from the state to receive a National Film Award for her debut documentary film Auto Driver . In 2015, she established Airameen Media, a platform dedicated to producing films that address social and gender issues and publishing books related to media and arts. [4] [5] [6] Her 2015 film Auto Driver delves into the life of a lady auto driver navigating the challenges of Imphal, a city often marked by conflict. [7] [8] It earned recognition at prestigious film festivals. Her short film Echo earned acclaim and an award at Peace Builders' International Film Festival in October 2016. Her 2023 documentary Andro Dreams opened the Indian Panorama Non-Feature section at the International Film Festival of India 2023.
