Meg Rodrigues Vitorino Emmerich (born 23 October 1986) is a Brazilian para judoka. [1] [2]
Emmerich was born in São Paulo, capital of the state of São Paulo, in 1986. [2] [3] She was born with optic nerve atrophy, a hereditary disease that causes vision loss. [2] [4] She moved to Maringá, a city in the interior of the state of Paraná. [5]
In 2018, Emmerich competed in two championships representing Brazil. [2] The first was the Pan American Adaptive Judo Championships, held in Calgary, Canada, where she won the silver medal in the +70 kg category. [6] In Lisbon, Portugal, she won the bronze medal for her category at the IBSA Judo World Championships, after losing to South Korean Park Ha-yeong. [7]
Emmerich was part of the Brazilian delegation, to participate in the 2019 Parapan American Games, held in Lima, Peru. [8] She secured gold for Brazil, in the +70 kg category. [9] Due to her victorious performance, she was elected the best judo athlete at the 2019 Paralympic Awards, held by the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB). [10]
Emmerich represented Brazil again, this time, at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in Tokyo, Japan. [11] She won the bronze medal, defeating Mongolian Altantsetseg Nyamaa, in the +70 kg category. [12] [13]
In 2022, Emmerich participated in the World Championships, in Baku, Azerbaijan. [14] In the competition, she won bronze in her category. [15]
Mayra Aguiar da Silva is a Brazilian retired judoka. She was a bronze medallist in three consecutive Olympics, 2012, 2016 and 2020. She is also three-time world champion. She is the first Brazilian woman to win three Olympic medals in an individual sport, being the best female judoka in the history of Brazil.
Rafael Carlos da Silva is a Brazilian heavyweight judoka. He has two Olympic bronze medals in addition to having 4 individual medals in World Judo Championships, in addition to being a six-time Pan American Judo champion.
Danielle Zangrando is a retired Brazilian judoka who competed in the women's lightweight category. She picked up a total of thirty medals in her career, including three from the Pan American Games, and a bronze from the 1995 World Judo Championships in Chiba, Japan, and also appeared in the 57-kg class in two editions of the Olympic Games. Growing up in Santos, Zangrando took up judo at the age of 5 following her brother to the dojo of sensei Paulo Duarte. Throughout most of her sporting career, Zangrando trained under Duarte as a full-fledged member of the judo squad for Santos FC Judô.

Rafael Augusto Buzacarini is a heavyweight judoka from Brazil. He won two silver medals at the 2020 and 2022 Pan American Judo Championships and qualified for the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics.
Jorge Ivayr Rodrigues da Fonseca is a Santomean-born Portuguese judoka who competes for both Portugal and Sporting Clube de Portugal. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the men's 100 kg event, in which he was eliminated in the second round by Lukáš Krpálek. He won the gold medal at the 2019 World Judo Championships in Tokyo and in the 2021 World Judo Championships in Budapest. He won the bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Lúcia da Silva Teixeira Araújo is a Brazilian female visually impaired judoka competing in the –57 kg division. Teixeira took a silver medal in the 2012 Summer Paralympics and 2016 Summer Paralympics. In 2016, she was defeated by Inna Cherniak of Ukraine who took the gold medal. She won one of the bronze medals in the women's 57 kg event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan.
David Moura Pereira da Silva is a Brazilian judoka. He won a silver medal at the 2017 World Judo Championships, was the gold medalist at the 2015 Pan American Games, the 2015 Pan American Judo Championships and ended 2017 as leader of the world rankings.
