The Yan Xiaoling –Fan Yanqiong case,also known as the Fujian Netizen Case,occurred from June 2009 through April 2010 in Fuzhou,Fujian Province,People's Republic of China. Yan Xiaoling (严晓玲),a 25-year-old woman from Minqing County,was found dead in February 2008 and was believed by her mother Lin Xiuying (林秀英) to be murdered after being gang raped by a group of ruffians who had connection with the local police,while the officials insisted that she had died from an ectopic pregnancy. Three human rights activists in Fuzhou,Fan Yanqiong (范燕琼),You Jingyou (游精佑) and Wu Huaying (吴华英),offered assistance by interviewing Yan's mother and putting the filmed footage online on June 24,2009,but were soon,among several other netizens,arrested by Fuzhou police and thrown into custody. The three were charged with,but never legally convicted of,making false and malicious accusation and had been detained for nine months before the final verdict was announced on April 16,2010 without any public trial. The case ended with Fan Yanqiong being sentenced to two years in jail and You Jingyou and Wu Huaying to one year. Fujian authorities later asked for the release of the suspects and an appeal was filed,but it was dismissed in court and the original verdict was upheld.
Hefei–Fuzhou high-speed railway,is a dual-track,electrified,passenger-dedicated,high-speed rail line between Hefei and Fuzhou,the provincial capitals of Anhui and Fujian,respectively. It has a total length of 813 km (505 mi) and runs through Anhui,Jiangxi and Fujian province. Construction began on April 27,2010 and the line was opened on 28 June 2015. The total cost of the line was about ¥109.8 billion. On this line,trains can reach top speeds of 300 kilometres per hour (186 mph),reducing the travel time by rail from Hefei to Fuzhou from fourteen to four hours. The railway is part of the future Beijing–Taipei high-speed rail corridor.

Shehua is an unclassified Sinitic language spoken by the She people of Southeastern China. It is also called Shanha,San-hak (山哈) or Shanhahua (山哈话). Shehua speakers are located mainly in Fujian and Zhejiang provinces of Southeastern China,with smaller numbers of speakers in a few locations of Jiangxi,Guangdong and Anhui provinces.

Dato' Sri Burhan Uray,also known as Huang Shuang'an in Mandarin Chinese and Bong Swan An or Bong Sun On in Eastern Min,was a Chinese-Indonesian entrepreneur and philanthropist,known as the "Timber King" of Indonesia. Born into a poor family in Fujian,China,he moved to Sarawak in childhood and then to Indonesia,where he founded the Djanjanti Group and turned it into the second largest timber company in the country. He later diversified into other businesses including fishery.
