Mepok or Mei Poke is a village and village tract in Hkamti Township in Hkamti District in the Sagaing Region of northwestern Burma. At the time of the 2014 census the village tract had a population of 255 people.
In the early 20th century the British established a small rubber plantation with hevea trees at Mepok. It didn't prove to be successful. [1]
Mepok is situated in Hkamti Township in the Sagaing Region of northwestern Burma, along the Chindwin River at an elevation of 188 metres (617 ft). [2] It is just to the south of Heinsun, about 19.5 kilometres (12.1 mi) south of Hkamti town. [3] The village tract borders Heinsun to the north, Lin Hpar to the southeast and Saung Lin to the northwest. The village of Laung Tauk lies within the village tract of Mepok further in land from the Chindwin, towards the village of Sein Lae in Saung Lin. [4]
At the time of the 2014 census the village tract had a population of 255 people of which 140 were men and 115 were women. 55 households were recorded. [5]
Tamanthi, Htamanthi or Tamanthe is a village on the Chindwin River in Homalin Township in Hkamti District in the Sagaing Region of northwestern Burma. It is located near the Tamanthi Wildlife Reserve. It is near the planned multi-purpose Tamanthi Dam. Gardens were planted in Tamanthi and other nearby villages around 1700 and the village has been documented as producing pickled tea, known as "letpet".
Hkamti Township or Khamti Township is a township in Hkamti District in the Sagaing Region of Burma (Myanmar). The principal town is Hkamti. As of 2014 the township had a population of 47,658 people and covered an area of 8,174 square kilometres (3,156 sq mi). The township is dominated by the Chindwin River and its tributaries and thickly forested areas. Nearly half the active working population are employed in agriculture, forestry or fishing. The township is a producer of rice, and has reserves of gold and jade being mined.

It is located near the border with India, just south of the border village of Laju. The village is inhabited by the Naga people, noted in the village for their weaving.
