Mesacanthidae is a family of fish that existed during the Devonian in Northwestern Europe. [1] It is part of the order Acanthodiformes, and includes the genera of Mesacanthus , Lodeacanthus , Melanacanthus , Teneracanthus , and Promesacanthus . [2] [3]
