Mesua ferrea, the Ceylon ironwood, or cobra saffron, is a species in the family Calophyllaceae. This slow-growing tree is named after the heaviness and hardness of its timber. Habitat is mixed dipterocarp forest from sea-level to 400 metres (1,300 ft) altitude. D. kunstleri is found in Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo and the Philippines.
