Miami Music Week (MMW) is a weeklong marathon of electronic dance music that takes place in Miami, Florida. During the last week of March, the event is attended by hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world. [1] [2] In 2015, over 1,000 artists performed at over 260 events hosted at a myriad of venues across Miami. [1] [3] Venues include nightclubs, pools, boats, and pop-up spaces/venues in areas such as Wynwood, Downtown Miami, Miami Beach, and Little Haiti. [4] [5] [6] Miami Music Week also leads up to the Ultra Music Festival, which is attended by 165,000 people over three days. [7] [8]
Miami Music Week began in 2011, taking place from 24–27 March, ending at the same time Ultra Music Festival had concluded its thirteenth edition. [9] [10] Since then, Miami Music Week has continued to grow every year, eventually becoming one of the world's largest congregations of dance music lovers. [11]
On March 21, 2018, Miami Music Week bought out the Winter Music Conference and the International Dance Music Awards. [12]
There have been many other hotels that have hosted pool parties during previous editions of Miami Music Week. These include the Gale Hotel, Dream Hotel, Raleigh Hotel, SLS Hotel, Surfcomber Hotel, Nautilus South Beach, Congress Hotel, Albion Hotel, and many others located around Miami Beach. Miami Music Week has gained popularity through notable reunions, debuts, and traditions. [18] [19] [20] This includes the return of Deep Dish (Sharam & Dubfire); and the debut of ENTER. in Miami; the massive 24-hour marathon party, Get Lost which is hosted by Crosstown Rebels; and of course Ultra Music Festival, which consistently proves to be one of the most popular music festivals in the world. Labels like Crosstown Rebels, Music On, Armada, Spinnin', Revealed, Monstercat, Anjunabeats, Mixmash, Dirtybird, Fool's Gold, Mad Decent, Axtone, and mau5trap hosted events during this past edition of Miami Music Week across venues throughout the city of Miami. [23] [24] [25] [26] [27] [28] [29] Artists who have appeared at Miami Music Week in the past include the likes of Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, Afrojack, Axwell, Steve Angello, Above & Beyond, Eric Prydz, Luciano, Markus Schulz, Damian Lazarus, Marco Carola, Sander van Doorn, Martin Garrix, Laidback Luke, Tiesto, David Guetta, Kaskade, Skrillex, Cashmere Cat, Chet Faker, Richie Hawtin, Josh Wink, Solomun, and many more. In 2015, Miami Music Week announced the first-ever Miami Music Week Hotel, which was located at the Delano Hotel in South Beach, Florida. [33] In 2016, the Miami Music Week Hotel once again took place at the Delano Hotel. The MMW Hotel has served as the epicenter of parties during Miami Music Week. [34] The hotel has hosted official events at both the Delano Beach Club and the FDR Lounge & Nightclub during the past two years. [35] Artists like The Magician, Robin Schulz, Klingande, Carl Cox, Dirty South, Oliver Heldens, Disclosure, Claude Vonstroke, and Guy Gerber have hosted events at the Miami Music Week Hotel during the past two editions of Miami Music Week. Miami-Dade County declared a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This forced the Ultra Music Festival to postpone and shortly after, the Winter Music Conference followed suit. [39] The Miami Music Week has returned since the initial lockdown of COVID-19, most recently occurring in March 2024. [40]
Above & Beyond are an electronic music group consisting of English DJs Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Finnish DJ Paavo Siljamäki. Formed in 2000, they are the owners of London-based electronic dance music labels Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, and also host a weekly radio show titled Group Therapy Radio. The trio has been consistently ranked among DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs Poll, having placed at No. 6 in 2007, No. 4 in 2008 & 2009, No. 5 in 2010 & 2011, No. 51 in 2018, No. 22 in 2019, No. 19 in 2020, No. 21 in 2021, No. 30 in 2022, and most recently No. 40 in 2023.

Ultra Music Festival (UMF) is an annual outdoor electronic music festival that takes place in March in Miami, Florida. The festival was founded in 1999 by Russell Faibisch and Alex Omes.

The Winter Music Conference (WMC) is a week-long electronic music conference, held every March in Miami Beach, Florida, United States since 1985. It is also known as the premiere platform for electronic dance music. The conference brings together professionals such as artists, DJs, record label representatives (A&R), producers, promoters, radio and the media for seminars and panel discussions. Each year the WMC draws thousands of attendees from around the world.

He has collaborated with Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, BT, Paul van Dyk, Mat Zo, OneRepublic and Matisse & Sadko. His debut album, Glorious (2015), peaked at number 14 on the US Dance/Electronic Albums charts.
The Surfcomber Hotel is a boutique hotel on Collins Avenue in the historic Art Deco district of South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida. The hotel was built in 1948 and was acquired by the Kimpton hotel chain in April 2011. The Surfcomber is known for pool parties, and it served as the headquarters for MTV during the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards and for Bud Light during Super Bowl XLIV in 2010. The hotel is located at 1717 Collins Avenue on the shore of Miami's South Beach.
Gary Richards, known by his stage name Destructo, is an American music executive, concert promoter, and DJ. As of September 1, 2017, he is the President of LiveStyle, North America. Prior to joining LiveStyle, he was the founder and CEO of HARD Events, a brand which has put on popular music festivals since 2007 and was subsequently purchased by Live Nation Entertainment in 2012. He has performed professionally as a DJ under the name Destructo for over 20 years, touring across the world. He is credited with being a leader in the electronic music genre in North America, helping to bring artists like Deadmau5 and Justice into the mainstream. Richards is included on Rolling Stone's "50 Most Important People in EDM" list, Billboard's "EDM Power Players" lists from 2014–2017, and inthemix's list of the "50 Most Powerful People in EDM". As Destructo, he has released four EP's titled Technology, Higher, West Coast, and RENEGADE respectively.
Ultra Europe is a multi-venue outdoor electronic music festival that is a part of Ultra Music Festival's worldwide expansion, which has now spread to twenty countries. Ultra Europe made its debut as a two-day festival during 12–13 July 2013, and took place in Split, Croatia, with an additional Ultra Beach party in Hvar Island, Croatia on 14 July 2013. In 2015, the festival became a part of Destination Ultra which now lasts seven days in the heart of Dalmatia and includes an opening party, the three-day festival, yacht regatta, Ultra Beach, and a closing party.

He is best known for his singles "Animals", "In the Name of Love", and "Scared to Be Lonely".
Niles Hollowell-Dhar, known professionally as Kshmr, is an American musician, songwriter, DJ, record producer, former rapper, and singer. He was ranked 23rd on DJ Mag's 2015 Top 100 DJs poll and was awarded highest new entry for the year. In the same poll he elevated to 12th in 2016 and 2017, and again in 2020. He was ranked 11th in the same poll in 2021; and in 2022 in same poll he ranked 12. In July 2017, he launched Dharma Worldwide, a sublabel of Spinnin' Records. Kshmr performed live at many music festivals like Coachella, Tomorrowland, EDC, Ultra and Sunburn.
Bassjackers is a Dutch electronic music production and DJ duo consisting of Marlon Flohr & Ralph van Hilst. Flohr is the more outspoken member of the duo whereas Van Hilst takes care of "behind-the-scenes" production.

Russell Faibisch is an American music festival producer and concert promoter. He is the co-founder of the Ultra Music Festival, an outdoor electronic music festival in Miami, and creator of the Ultra Worldwide brand. He is CEO, President, and Executive producer of the Ultra organization, and is also the chairman of the board, upon which and Adam Russakoff serve. Currently, Faibisch presides over an international chain of branded music festivals, concerts, and events, which include editions spanning across Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa, South, and North America, plus globally syndicated radio broadcasts, an online YouTube channel, music films, and premieres. In April 2016, Ultra Music Festival won the DJ Mag award for “World’s Number 1 Festival,” which was voted on by over 500,000 fans worldwide. In 2008, Ultra was also given the DJ Award for “International Dance Music Festival"." In 2014, Faibisch was ranked #6 on Rolling Stone’s “Most Important People in EDM List." Later that year, Billboard named Faibisch and business partner Adam Russakoff on the “EDM Power Players - Executives List. In 2016 and 2017, both Faibisch and Russakoff were again named on Billboard’s annual “Power List of DJs and Executives." In 2017, Magnetic Magazine named Faibisch the "Industry Person of the Year."
Ultra Singapore started with a Road to Ultra event which took place in September 2015, and in 2016 returned as a two-day festival, which took place at Ultra Park, a field across Marina Bay Sands during 10–11 September 2016.

Alex Seaver, better known by his stage name Mako, is an American music producer and DJ from Los Angeles. The project Mako originally started as a duo with producer Logan Light, who left the group in 2017. Mako rose to prominence in the electronic dance music scene from their single "Beam", which was remixed by Dannic on Revealed Recordings and played at festivals worldwide.
Mike Willemsen, better known by his stage name Mike Williams, is a Dutch DJ, record producer, musician, and remixer. He is best known for working with Tiësto and as an artist of Spinnin' Records, who recognised him as an "artist of the future". He is regarded as one of the pioneers of the future bounce genre, an emerging subgenre of future house, alongside Dutch DJs Brooks and Mesto and more.
The Electronic Dance Music Awards is an annual music award event focusing across most all electronic dance music genres. The event is held annually in March at the Eden Roc Miami Beach Hotel in Miami during the Ultra Music Festival / Miami Music Week. The awards are given out across a variety of categories including Song of the Year in Dance, Tech, House and Bass genres, Best Male and Female Artist, Best Collaboration, Remix of the Year, Best New Artist, Club DJ Of the Year, and Vocalist of the Year, among many others. The EDMAs are known as a star-studded affair, featuring a slew of leading DJs, music producers, international press and others comprising the industry's corps d'elite. The show is hosted by iHeart Radio personality, Radio Hall of Fame inductee, founder and executive producer Sean "Hollywood" Hamilton.
