Michael E. Fortney is a retired major general in the United States Air Force. He was Vice Commander of the Air Force Global Strike Command from 2015 until his retirement in 2017.
Fortney originally enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1978. [1] He was commissioned an officer in 1986 and was stationed at Minot Air Force Base. In 1990, Fortney became Executive Officer of the 57th Air Division at Minot.
In 1992, Fortney was stationed at Francis E. Warren Air Force Base. He was then assigned to Vandenberg Air Force Base. After serving at United States Strategic Command from 1999 to 2001, he returned to Vandenberg Air Force Base.
From 2004 to 2005, Fortney was stationed at Tinker Air Force Base. In 2005, he returned to Francis E. Warren Air Force Base and assumed command of the 90th Operations Group. Fortney then returned to Vandenberg again and became Vice Commander of the 30th Space Wing in 2007. The following year, he assumed command of the 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom Air Force Base. After serving again for a time at United States Strategic Command, he assumed his current position in 2011.
Awards Fortney has received include the Defense Superior Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Combat Readiness Medal and the National Defense Service Medal with service star.
General Larry D. Welch is a retired United States Air Force four-star general who served as the 12th Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force. As Chief of Staff, he served as the senior uniformed Air Force officer responsible for the organization, training and equipping of a combined active duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian force serving at locations in the United States and overseas. As a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he and the other service chiefs functioned as the principal military advisers to the Secretary of Defense, National Security Council and the President. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Nuclear Weapon Surety Task Force for the Defense Science Board.

Lieutenant General Larry D. James is a former senior officer in the United States Air Force. He is the interim director of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he has been the deputy director since September 23, 2013. He acts as the Laboratory's Chief Operating Officer responsible to the Director for the day-to-day management of JPL's resources and activities. This includes managing the Laboratory's solar system exploration, Mars, astronomy, physics, Earth science, interplanetary network programs, and all business operations. These activities employ 5000 scientists, engineers, technicians, and business support personnel, generating $1.8 billion in annual revenues. Prior to his current role, he served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Headquarters United States Air Force. James' prior commands included the 14th Air Force and Joint Functional Component Command for Space from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.
John R. Allen Jr. is a retired United States Air Force brigadier general. Allen served on active duty for 31 years, until his retirement in 1990. He is a highly decorated command pilot with over 6,000 flying hours In B-47s, FB-111s, B-52s, KC-135s and T-39s.
Brigadier General Cary C. Chun is a retired senior officer of the United States Air Force. He served as the Deputy Commander, Operations and Interagency Integration, Joint Functional Component Command for Space, United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), and the Director for Mission Operations, National Reconnaissance Office. In this role, he led all Department of Defense space forces aligned with USSTRATCOM and provided tailored, responsive, local and global effects in support of national, USSTRATCOM and combatant commander objectives.
