Yosemite National Park is a national park of the United States in California. It is bordered on the southeast by Sierra National Forest and on the northwest by Stanislaus National Forest. The park is managed by the National Park Service and covers 759,620 acres in four counties –centered in Tuolumne and Mariposa,extending north and east to Mono and south to Madera. Designated a World Heritage Site in 1984,Yosemite is internationally recognized for its granite cliffs,waterfalls,clear streams,groves of giant sequoia,lakes,mountains,meadows,glaciers,and biological diversity. Almost 95 percent of the park is designated wilderness. Yosemite is one of the largest and least fragmented habitat blocks in the Sierra Nevada.

Red Rocks Park is a mountain park in Jefferson County,Colorado,owned and maintained by the city of Denver as part of the Denver Mountain Parks system. The park is known for its very large red sandstone outcrops. Many of these rock formations within the park have names,from the mushroom-shaped Seat of Pluto to the inclined Cave of the Seven Ladders. The most visited rocks,around Red Rocks Amphitheatre,are Creation Rock to the north,Ship Rock to the south,and Stage Rock to the east.
A national recreation area (NRA) is a protected area in the United States established by an Act of Congress to preserve enhanced recreational opportunities in places with significant natural and scenic resources. There are 40 NRAs,which emphasize a variety of activities for visitors,including hiking,camping,boating,fishing,swimming,biking,horseback riding,and wildlife viewing,in areas that include multiple-use management for both conservation and limited utilization of natural resources. They have diverse features and contexts,being established around reservoirs,in urban areas,and within forests. Due to their size,diversity of activities,and proximity to population centers,NRAs are among the most visited units of the National Park System,with six among the thirty most visited sites.

Delgado is a maritime archaeologist with over four decades of experience in underwater exploration. He has participated in over 100 shipwreck investigations worldwide,including notable sites such as the RMS Titanic,USS Independence (CVL-22),USS Conestoga (AT-54),USS Monitor,USS Arizona (BB-39),USS Nevada (BB-36),Sub Marine Explorer,the buried Gold Rush ships of San Francisco,the atomic bomb test fleet at Bikini Atoll,the slave ship Clotilda,and Kublai Khan's lost fleet from the Mongol invasions of Japan.
Horace Marden Albright was an American conservationist and the second director of the National Park Service.
Herbert Maier was an American architect and public administrator,most notable as an architect for his work at Yosemite,Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Parks. Maier,as a consultant to the National Park Service,designed four trailside museums in Yellowstone,three of which survive as National Historic Landmarks. Maier played a significant role in the Park Service's use of the National Park Service Rustic style of architecture in western national parks.
William Jerome Whalen III was the 10th director of the United States National Park Service. He joined Park Service in 1965 as a Job Corps counselor and advanced to posts in National Capital Parks and Yosemite before becoming superintendent of Golden Gate National Recreation Area in 1972. His experience in the burgeoning urban parks field contributed to his appointment as director in July 1977,yet the most significant event of his tenure was President Jimmy Carter's proclamation of much Alaska wilderness as national monuments in 1978,doubling the area under NPS jurisdiction. Friction with park concessioners led to congressional calls for Whalen's removal in 1980,and Secretary of the Interior Cecil D. Andrus returned him to Golden Gate. He left the NPS in 1983.

Daniel Ray Hull (1890–1964),sometimes stated Daniel P. Hull,was an American landscape architect who was responsible for much of the early planning of the built environment the national parks of the United States during the 1920s. Hull planned town sites,designed landscapes,and designed individual buildings for the Park Service,in private practice,and later for the California State Parks. A number of his works are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Great American Outdoors Act is a piece of legislation passed by the United States Congress,signed by President Donald J. Trump,and activated into Public Law in 2020. It has two major components:fully and permanently fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) at $900 million per year,and providing $9.5 billion over five years to address a maintenance backlog at American national parks,including updating facilities to increase accessibility for the general public. The Associated Press wrote that it would be "the most significant conservation legislation enacted in nearly half a century."
