Mickey's is a brand of malt liquor made by the Miller Brewing Company, [1] a subsidiary of Molson Coors. It has a 5.6% ABV.
The brand was created by Sterling Brewery in Evansville, Indiana, which brewed it from 1962 through 1972, [2] when the company was purchased by the G. Heileman Brewing Company. In 1996, G. Heilman was acquired by the Stroh Brewery Company who then sold the brand to Miller during their 1999 closure.
Mickey's is known for its bright green barrel-shaped, waffle-ribbed wide-mouthed 12-ounce bottle. [3] It features an image of a hornet on the label and the cap, and rebus puzzles beneath it. [4] [5]
At some point Mickey began to sponsor the Ultimate Fighting Championship, using the phrase, "Get Stung", and has featured several UFC fighters on 24 ounce cans. [6] Mickey's is also available in 12, 16, 22, 32, and 40 ounce sizes.[ citation needed ]
There is a reference to Mickey's in the track "Frank's Wild Years" by Tom Waits on his 1983 album Swordfishtrombones where, on his way home from work, the song’s title character "stopped at the liquor store, picked up a couple of Mickey's Big Mouths, and drank them in the car down by the Shell station."
There is also a reference to Mickey’s in the track “Panhandlin’ Prince” by Ugly Kid Joe from their 1992 album America’s Least Wanted which contains the lyrics “Sitting on a rusty park bench, baby. Not much else to do. Smoke cigarettes and drink my Mickey’s Fine Malt Liquor Brew”

Molson Coors acquired the full global brand portfolio of Miller Brewing Company in 2016, and operates the Miller Brewery at the site of the original Miller Brewing Company complex.

The company was taken over and broken up in 2000, but some of its brands continued to be made by the new owners. The Stroh's brand is currently owned and marketed by Pabst Brewing Company, except in Canada where the Stroh brands are owned by Sleeman Breweries.

Genesee Brewing Company is an American brewery located along the Genesee River in Rochester, New York. From 2000 to 2009, the company was known as the High Falls Brewing Company. In 2009, High Falls was acquired by the capital investment firm KPS Capital. Together with newly acquired Labatt USA, KPS merged the two companies as North American Breweries. Along with this change, High Falls Brewery changed its name back to the original "Genesee Brewing Company" operating under the North American Breweries name. Kasauli Brewery and Distillery, at Kasauli in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh state of India, was established in late 1920s during the British Raj by Edward Abraham Dyer. It started producing Asia's first beer brand, the "Lion Beer", and India's first single malt whisky, the ""Solan No. 1". Both of these brands are still in production. After the swap of brewery at Kasauli to Solan distillery and vice versa in 1835, presently Lion beer is produced at Solan and Solan No.1 whisky is produced at the Kasauli distillery using some of the original equipment including the copper pot still. The production of Lion beer was moved 25 km east to Solan Brewery at Solan, due to water scarcity, after civilian Kasauli hill station resort town came up around the brewery. Lion beer was originally an India Pale Ale (IPA), but the beer style was changed to lager in 1960s.
