Midnight Red [1] (formerly known as FLYTE) is an American boy band formed in 2009. The group was signed to RedOne's 2101 Records and to Capitol.
Midnight Red was originally formed by Eric Secharia, Anthony Ladao, and Thomas Augusto. Secharia and Augusto auditioned for the 2007 rebirth of popular boy band Menudo. The group recruited Joey Diggs Jr. from a referral by a fellow producer, while Colton Rudloff was found on YouTube. In 2009, after relocating to California, the group formed FLYTE.
The group caught the eye of one of the music producers of RedOne, who worked with Akon, Lady Gaga, Pitbull, and Jennifer Lopez, among other artists. Once signed to Interscope Records, the group renamed itself Midnight Red. In the video for "Body Talk", Augusto says "Midnight is that time that everyone wants to sneak out and party, and red is a very dominant, 'in your face' color and it represents what Midnight Red wants to do with its music." Red is also part of their name, in honor of REDone.
In the spring of 2011, Interscope released Midnight Red's self-titled EP on iTunes. The EP featured their first song "One Club at a Time", which was used for FOX's So You Think You Can Dance for National Dance Day, as well as a cover of "Step by Step" by New Kids on the Block.
The group received rave reviews as the opening act on the NKOTBSB Tour in the summer of 2011. [2] After the tour the group flew to Paris in December 2011 to continue recording material for their debut album. The group performed for many events including Larry King's "Guard a Heart" Pre Grammy Performance, opening for Carly Rae Jepsen at Universal City Walk, and Young Hollywood-Uneeqability. Their first official single, "Hell Yeah", has received airplay on Minnesota's Mix 94.9 KMXK FM and was released for radio in the latter half of May 2012. The video for the single was shot in April 2012 in California and was directed by Declan Whitebloom, who has worked with artists like Taylor Swift and One Direction."Hell Yeah" was released to iTunes on June 19, 2012.
Midnight Red released their single "Take Me Home" on July 16, 2013. The video was released on August 19, 2013. The single was produced by RedOne and recorded in Los Angeles, CA. "Take Me Home" was also featured in a Coca-Cola commercial that ran in movie theaters nationwide. [3] Midnight Red signed to Capitol Records in June 2013 through a joint venture with 2101 Records. They released their debut self-titled EP on December 10, 2013. To promote their single, Midnight Red performed in a number of holiday shows in the United States, following a successful radio tour. In 2014, the band was chosen as Elvis Duran's Artist of the Month and appeared on NBC's Today show with Hoda Kotb and Kathy Lee Gifford performing "Take Me Home". As the band calls their fans "redheads", the hosts Hoda and Kathy Lee were shown wearing red wigs while the band performed an acoustic version of the song live. [4] Also in 2014, Midnight Red toured with Austin Mahone on MTV's Artist to Watch Tour. This tour consisted of stops across the eastern United States in 10 cities and other acts included Becky G and W3 The Future.
On March 27, 2015, Joey Diggs announced his departure from the group, citing that "happiness" and "trust" come first for him in order to "see growth" that he desires to see in his life. [5]

Referred to as the "Most Iconic Latino Pop Music Band", Menudo has been ranked as one of the biggest boy bands of all time by several publications, including Billboard, Us Weekly, Seventeen, and Teen Vogue, being the only Latin band on their lists.
Joseph Hahn is an American musician, DJ, director, and visual artist best known as the DJ and creative director of the American rock band Linkin Park, doing the scratching, turntables, sampling, and programming for all seven of Linkin Park's albums. Hahn, along with bandmate Mike Shinoda, are responsible for most of Linkin Park's album artwork. Hahn also directed many of the band's music videos.
New Kids on the Block is an American boy band from Dorchester, Massachusetts. The band consists of brothers Jonathan and Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood. New Kids on the Block enjoyed success in the late 1980s and early 1990s and have sold more than 80 million records worldwide, and are often credited for paving the way for future boy bands such as Take That, Backstreet Boys and NSYNC. They won two American Music Awards in 1990 for Favorite Pop/Rock Band, Duo, or Group and Favorite Pop/Rock Album. In 1991, they performed the halftime show at Super Bowl XXV, a first for a popular music group.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs are an American indie rock band formed in New York City in 2000. The group is composed of vocalist and pianist Karen O, guitarist and keyboardist Nick Zinner, and drummer Brian Chase. They are complemented in live performances by second guitarist David Pajo, who joined as a touring member in 2009 and replaced Imaad Wasif, who had previously held the role. Travis Garland is an American singer and dancer. He is best known as the former lead singer of the boy band NLT, which consisted of Kevin McHale, Justin Joseph "JJ" Thorne and V Sevani. They were discovered by producer Chris Stokes and signed to his TUG Entertainment label in 2006. In May 2009, Garland confirmed on his Myspace page that the group had split. Garland is now a solo artist.
"Deuces" is a song written and performed by American singer Chris Brown featuring fellow American musicians Tyga and Kevin McCall. Produced by McCall, "Deuces" was released digitally on June 25, 2010, as the lead single from Brown's first collaborative effort with Tyga, titled Fan of a Fan (2010). The song is a slow, down-tempo R&B ballad featuring elements from the genres of house and pop music, while the song is lyrically about "breaking it off with a girl after failed attempts to make the relationship work". "Deuces" was later included on Brown's fourth studio album, F.A.M.E. (2011).
The NKOTBSB Tour was a co-headlining concert tour between American boy bands New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys, who together formed NKOTBSB. The tour visited North America in 2011. Europe, Australia and Asia were added to the itinerary for 2012. The tour ranked 44th in Pollstar's "Top 50 Worldwide Tour (Mid-Year)", earning over 10 million dollars. At the conclusion of 2011, the tour placed 8th on Billboard's annual "Top 25 Tours", earning over $76 million with 51 shows.
NKOTBSB is a compilation album by American supergroup NKOTBSB, which consists of New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys. The album was released on May 24, 2011, and features five hits from each group, two new joint recordings "All in My Head" and "Don't Turn Out the Lights", as well as a mash up. The album debuted at number seven in the US, selling 40,000 in the first week of its release. The album coincides with the joint tour featuring the groups, starting at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on May 25, 2011. The album was granted a Silver certification in UK.
NKOTBSB was an American pop supergroup consisting of the members of American boy bands New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys. Howie Dorough of the Backstreet Boys came up with the name, which is a combination of established initialisms of each groups' names, NKOTB and BSB. Together they have released one compilation album, the eponymous NKOTBSB (2011) and one single, "Don't Turn Out the Lights". They toured in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia in 2011 and 2012.
