Miika Nuutinen (born 10 September 1991) is a Finnish football manager and a former player, who is an assistant coach of HJK Helsinki. As a teenager, Nuutinen played in the fourth-tier Kolmonen with TuPS, before starting his coaching career at the age of 17. [1]

Nuutinen has a UEFA A -coaching license. He has also graduated in a bachelor's degree programme of Sports Coaching and Management in the Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. [2] [3] Since June 2022, Nuutinen works also as a football pundit for Yle Sport. [4]

Coaching career

Nuutinen started football coaching in his former youth club Tuusulan Palloseura (TuPS) as a youth coach, additionally working with another local club PK Keski-Uusimaa youth sector. In 2017, Nuutinen started as a youth talent coach in Vantaan Jalkapalloseura (VJS), [5] [6] and in late 2019 he joined Käpylän Pallo (KäPa) U17-team. [1] [7]

Klubi 04

On 30 November 2021, it was announced that Nuutinen was named the head coach of Klubi 04, the reserve team of HJK Helsinki. [8] At the end of the 2023 season, he led the team to gain a spot in new Ykkönen.

Nuutinen also coached HJK U19 youth squad in 2023–24 UEFA Youth League, where the team advanced by defeating Malmö FF youth, before eventually losing to Nantes youth on penalties, after drawing them 1–1 on aggregate. [9]

TPS

In September 2023, Nuutinen was named the manager of Turun Palloseura (TPS) in the new Finnish second-tier Ykkösliiga, on a three-year deal starting in 2024 season. [10] [11] [12] [13] Nuutinen left TPS after one season due to club's financial problems. [14]

HJK (assistant)

On 8 January 2025, Nuutinen was named an assistant coach of HJK Helsinki, in a coaching staff of Toni Korkeakunnas. [15]
