Mineko's Night Market is a 2023 business simulation video game developed by Meowza Games and published by Humble Games for Windows and Switch. Players control a young girl tasked with revitalizing a local market.
Players control a girl named Mineko who moves to small Japanese island that has fallen on economic hardship. They are tasked with revitalizing the market by selling crafts and encouraging other vendors to set up shop. Along the way, players gather resources to make items to sell, do quests for their neighbors, and investigate rumors of Nikko, a spirit cat who is worshiped locally. Players can rescue cats captured by government agents also investigating Nikko. [2]
Developer Meowza Games is based in Vancouver, Canada. [3] Humble Games released Mineko's Night Market for Windows and Switch on September 26, 2023. Ports are planned for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and 5 on October 26, 2023. [4]
Mineko's Night Market received mixed reviews on Metacritic. [5] Though they praised the art, PC Gamer criticized the "muddled gameplay and conflicted writing" and said it should have focused more strongly on either. [2] IGN described it as "an adorable little sim that could've been cozy" but forces players to engage in too much grinding. [6] Comparing it negatively to the Animal Crossing series, Rock Paper Shotgun criticized what they felt were "tedious crafting, soulless resource crafting", and dull fetch quests. [7] Hardcore Gamer called it a "truly impressive life sim", praising its graphics, depiction of Japanese culture, and story. [8] Nintendo World Report praised the art style and crafting, but they said the Switch version had poor performance that made it hard to recommend until a patch is released. [9] Siliconera wrote, "Mineko's Night Market has a great story, fantastic vibes, and fun concept, but the balancing and Switch performance issues are hassle." [10]

Pokkén Tournament is a fighting video game developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game combines gameplay elements from Bandai Namco's Tekken series and other fighting games, such as 3D and 2D movement, with characters from the Pokémon franchise. It was released for Japanese arcades in July 2015, and worldwide for the Wii U in March 2016. An enhanced port for the Nintendo Switch, Pokkén Tournament DX, was released in September 2017. Duck Game is a 2D action game developed by Landon Podbielski and published by Adult Swim Games. The game was released for the Ouya in 2014, and for Microsoft Windows in 2015. A PlayStation 4 version was released in August 2017, and a Nintendo Switch version was released in May 2019. OneShot is a puzzle-adventure game developed by indie studio Future Cat and published by Degica. Based on a 2014 free version, it was released for Microsoft Windows via Steam on December 8, 2016, and on itch.io on March 12, 2020. Wheels of Aurelia is a 2016 visual novel and adventure video game that was developed and published by Italian studio Santa Ragione. NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 is a sports video game developed by Saber Interactive and published by 2K, and is a spin-off title of the NBA 2K series and a part of the Playground Sports series. The game was released for Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One on October 16, 2018. It is the sequel to the 2017 video game NBA Playgrounds. Like its predecessor, NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 is an arcade-style basketball game. The game featured improved AI over its predecessor. Originally scheduled to release on May 22, 2018, the game was delayed to October 16 due to Saber finalizing a publishing deal with 2K.

Boyfriend Dungeon is a dungeon crawler-dating sim developed and published by Kitfox Games. Taking place in an urban fantasy setting, the player character must fight through dungeons with the help of a human partner who can transform into a sentient weapon. Outside of dungeons, the player can date their partner in visual novel-style sequences that increase their power in combat. It was released for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows on August 11, 2021, followed by a PlayStation 5 version on February 14, 2023.
Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon is a dungeon crawler puzzle game developed by Vine and Yacht Club Games, and published by Yacht Club Games. It is a spin-off of Shovel Knight. It was released on December 13, 2021 for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The story follows protagonist Shovel Knight as he becomes trapped within a magical artifact, the Pocket Dungeon, and is forced to fight his way out while battling other knights who befell the same fate. The game was positively received by critics, who noted its graphics, soundtrack and easy-to-learn yet deep gameplay as strong points.
