The Ministry of Internal Affairs (Romanian : Ministerul Afacerilor Interne, MAI) is one of the fourteen ministries of the Government of Moldova. It is the main executive body responsible for the Trupele de Carabinieri.
During the Moldavian Democratic Republic, Vladimir Cristi served as Director General for Internal Affairs.
The Ministry was created upon cessation by Soviet Union of Bessarabia which was part of Romania in 1940. On 8 August 1940 The Government of Soviet Union has announced creation of NKVD Internal affairs organization that was responsible public order and state secret service in newly created Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic. After the World War II now with permanent soviet occupation local organization of NKVD on 26 March 1946 changes name to Ministry of Internal Affairs thus being direct inherit to current Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova. On 18 December 1990 the Parliament of newly Independent Moldovan Republic adopted law in relation to name of police (Poliţia) instead of Militsiya.
Among the departments of the Ministry are the General Division of State Guard, the Division of Information and Operative Evidence and the Department of Public order.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation is the interior ministry of Russia.
The General Police Inspectorate is the national civilian police force of the Republic of Moldova. It is a state institution subordinated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, that regulates law enforcement in Moldova. The current Chief of the General Police Inspectorate is currently Viorel Cernăuțeanu.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR was the interior ministry of the Soviet Union from 1946 to 1991.
The People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs, abbreviated as NKVD, was the interior ministry and secret police of the Soviet Union from 1934 to 1946. The agency was formed to succeed the Joint State Political Directorate (OGPU) secret police organization, and thus had a monopoly on intelligence and state security functions. The NKVD is known for carrying out political repression and the Great Purge under Joseph Stalin, as well as counterintelligence and other operations on the Eastern Front of World War II. The head of the NKVD was Genrikh Yagoda from 1934 to 1936, Nikolai Yezhov from 1936 to 1938, Lavrentiy Beria from 1938 to 1946, and Sergei Kruglov in 1946.
The Chișinău Independence Day Parade is one of the events of the Independence Day of Moldova held by the Moldovan National Army. The parade is held in Chișinău, Moldova on August 27 every 5 to 10 years on Great National Assembly Square.
Alexandru Jizdan is a Moldovan politician and police officer who served as Minister of Internal Affairs of Moldova from 2016 to 2019 in the Filip Cabinet. Previously he worked in various positions in structures of Interior Ministry, and in 2015-2016 worked as deputy director of Information and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova. After the April 2009 protests in Moldova he was awarded by the then-minister Gheorghe Papuc for executing well the orders. From 9 March 2019, the MP of the DPM in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.

The Moldovan Border Police, also commonly known as the Moldovan Frontier Police, is the official paramilitary border guard of the Republic of Moldova. It is currently a department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) and exercises its powers and policy in the accordance with the ministry. It was originally founded as the Border Guard Troops, and later the Border Guard Service of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova.
The Ştefan cel Mare Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is the police academy of Moldova. It is named after Stephen III of Moldavia, who ruled the country as Voivode (Prince) from 1457 and 1504. It primarily trains personnel of the General Police Inspectorate in their future service as law enforcement officers. Outside of the IGP, it also trains personnel from other law enforcement agencies under the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is located on 21 Gheorghe Asachi Street in Chișinău.

The Ministry of Migration and Asylum is the official government body that oversees migration and asylum policy issues in Greece. It also contributes and implements European policies on Migration. It collaborates with the European Union Agency for Asylum, the International Organization for Migration and the United Nations. It receives funding from the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, the Internal Security Fund and the European Recovery and Resilience Fund. The Ministry of Migration and Asylum was established on 15 January 2020. The Ministry of Migration Policy, established on 5 November 2016, was abolished on 8 July 2019.
