Minjoong Yoon (born September 8, 1948) is a South Korean chemist and professor.
Yoon specializes in nano and molecular scale photochemistry and photonics. He is well known for the studies of space and time resolved fluorescence/Raman spectroscopy that has been conducted at the Laboratory for Molecular-Nano Photochemistry and Photonics in Chungnam National University. [1] Acknowledging his contribution to chemistry, he was elected the 43rd president of The Korean Chemical Society in 2007 and held the position until 2009. In 2009, he also was elected as the president of The Korean Union of Chemical Science and Technology Societies. He served the president of Asia-Oceania Photochemistry Association from 2011 to 2012. He is an editorial advisory board member for the Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology C-Photochemistry Review after serving editorial board member from 2001 to 2013. He served as an editorial board member for the Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology A-Chemistry from 2004 to 2016. He has been an associate editor of the journal, Photochemical and Photobiological Sciences since 2006.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Yoon studied chemistry education (Bachelor of Science, 1971) at Seoul National University. Instead of becoming a highschool teacher, his research interest in chemistry led him to pursue postgraduate studies (Master of Science, 1974) at Sogang University. Yoon continued the graduate study under Dr. Pill-soon Song and received Ph.D in chemistry from Texas Tech University in 1981. After the post-doctoral research fellowships at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and Harvard Medical School from 1981 to 1982, Yoon returned to Korea to become a faculty member of Department of Chemistry of Chungnam National University.

Pill-Soon Song is a professor in Jeju National University, Jeju, Korea. Song specializes in molecular photobiology. He worked on the structure-function relation of phytochromes and other photoreceptors including stentorin and blepharismin. Presently, his research revolves around the molecular mechanisms involved in overexpression of phytochrome and its related genes in turfgrass and other plant species. Acknowledging his contributions to photobiology, he was elected as Editor-in-Chief for the American Society for Photobiology journal, Photochemistry and Photobiology (1975–1994) and received the Finsen Medal in 2009 awarded by the International Union of Photobiology.
The Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology is a series of peer-reviewed scientific journals covering the fields of photochemistry and photobiology, published by Elsevier. It was originally established in 1972, and split into Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology A: Chemistry and Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology B: Biology in 1987. A third title; Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology C: Photochemistry Reviews, was established in 2000 and is the official journal of the Japanese Photochemistry Association.
Ayyappanpillai Ajayagosh is an organic chemist, academic and the former director of the National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology. He is known for his studies on supramolecular assemblies and light induced sensor systems and is an elected fellow of all the three major Indian science academies viz. the National Academy of Sciences, India, Indian National Science Academy and the Indian Academy of Sciences as well as The World Academy of Sciences. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards for his contributions to Chemical Sciences in 2007. He received the TWAS Prize of The World Academy of Sciences in 2013.
Silvia Elsa Braslavsky is an Argentine chemist. She is the daughter of educationist Berta Perelstein de Braslavsky and biochemist Lázaro Braslavsky, and the sister of Cecilia Braslavsky, educationist and erstwhile director of the International Bureau of Education of UNESCO. Park Jeong Young, sometimes written as Park, Jeong Y., is a professor in the Department of Chemistry at KAIST and associate director at the Center for Nanomaterials and Chemical Reactions at the Institute for Basic Science. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and American Vacuum Society among others, an international committee member of Asian Science Camp, and has served on the editorial boards of Scientific Reports, Advanced Materials Interfaces, Journal of the Korean Physical Society, and New Physics.
