Miss South Africa 2014 was the 56th edition of the Miss South Africa pageant, held at the Sun City Superbowl in Rustenburg, on March 30, 2014.

Contents

The pageant was won by Rolene Strauss who, in the December of the same year, was also crowned Miss World. [2] Strauss' winning of the Miss World title made her ineligible for Miss Universe; this led to Miss South Africa 2014 first runner up Ziphozakhe Zokufa being crowned Miss South Africa, [3] to allow Zokufa to compete for the Miss Universe 2014 crown. [4]

Jo-Ann Cindy Strauss is a South African model, public speaker, businesswoman and beauty pageant titleholder. In 2001 she represented her country as Miss South Africa at the Miss Universe pageant in Puerto Rico as well as at the Miss World pageant hosted at Sun City in her home country in 2001. She was featured in the 2001 music video of the Irish pop group Westlife's single "When You're Looking Like That".

Marilyn Ramos is a South African designer, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss South Africa 2012, becoming the official representative of her country to Miss Universe 2013 and Miss World 2013. Ramos represented South Africa at Miss World 2013 and Miss Universe 2013, failing to place in both competitions. She entered the pageant twice before she emerged the winner. She also held the title for the longest in SA pageant history- 16 months until she has crowned Rolene Strauss on 30 March 2014 as her successor.

This is the second time that South Africa has won the title outright and the third time they have held the title.

Miss Grand South Africa is an annual female beauty pageant in South Africa founded in 2015 by Commonwealth Pageant South Africa, led by Anel de Swardt, aiming to select the country representative to compete in its parent contest Miss Grand International. The license was transferred to Zee World in 2016, and later to Maggy-Dee Productions, led by Miss Grand South Africa 2015 "Lenie Pieterse" who currently owns and runs the contest since 2017.
