Mississippi Highway 172 (MS 172) is a state highway located in Tishomingo County, Mississippi. The route runs 12.074 mi (19.431 km) from U.S. Route 72 (US 72) near Burnsville east to US 72 near Oldham, just west of the Alabama border. The route is a two-lane undivided road its entire length and runs mostly through wooded areas. It also passes through the town of Iuka, where it has an intersection with MS 25.
Mississippi Highway 5 is a state highway in Benton County, Mississippi, United States. It runs 24.3 mi (39.107 km) from MS 178 in Hickory Flat north to U.S. Route 72 to the south of Michigan City. The route runs through the Holly Springs National Forest for much of its length and passes through Ashland. To the south of Ashland, MS 5 has a concurrency with MS 4. The MS 5 designation was first used by 1932 for an unpaved road between Hickory Flat and the Tennessee border in Michigan City. In 1943, the northern terminus was cut back to US 72. MS 5 was completely paved by 1951 and has retained its current alignment since then.
Mississippi Highway 9W is a 20.3-mile (32.7 km) long state highway located in northern Mississippi. The southern terminus of the route is at MS 9 north of Bruce in Calhoun County while the northern terminus is at MS 7 south of Oxford in Lafayette County. The route is a two-lane undivided road its entire length and passes through rural areas of woods and farms. Along the way, MS 9W intersects MS 315 in Paris. MS 9W was designated to follow its current alignment in 1956 and was fully paved from a gravel road by 1960.
Mississippi Highway 24 is a state highway in Mississippi, United States. The highway runs 76.0 miles (122.3 km) from Fort Adams east to an interchange with Interstate 55 (I-55) and U.S. Highway 98 in McComb. The roadway passes through Wilkinson, Amite, and Pike counties, serving the communities of Woodville, Centreville, Gloster, and Liberty. MS 24 has concurrencies with MS 33 between Centerville and Gloster and MS 48 from Liberty to west of McComb.
U.S. Route 45 Alternate is a 62.9-mile-long (101.2 km) alternate route of US 45 in northeastern Mississippi, running from Brooksville, through West Point, to Shannon, which lies just south of Tupelo. Excluding the route through West Point, the entire length of US 45 Alternate is a four-lane divided expressway, with interchanges at most major junctions.
Mississippi Highway 311 is a state highway located in Marshall County, Mississippi, United States. The route runs 12.960 mi (20.857 km) from MS 7 in Holly Springs north to U.S. Route 72 in Mount Pleasant. The route is a two-lane undivided road its entire length and passes through rural areas. MS 311 was designated onto its current alignment in 1957, and was fully paved from a gravel road by the 1960s.
Mississippi Highway 198 is a state highway in the U.S. state of Mississippi. The highway is the designation for six former segments of U.S. Highway 98 that have been bypassed by newer alignments. These six segments are located in Tylertown, Columbia, Hattiesburg, Beaumont, McLain, and Lucedale. Five of the six sections of MS 198 are two-lane undivided roads that pass through small towns; the exception is the Hattiesburg section which is a four-lane divided highway running through developed areas of the city. The total length of the six sections of MS 198 is 24.937 miles (40.132 km).
Mississippi Highway 607 is a state highway in the Mississippi Gulf Coast region. The route starts at U.S. Route 90, and it travels westward to Interstate 10 (I-10). The route has a gap as the road travels through the Stennis Space Center, but resumes north of the center to end at I-59 and US 11 south of Picayune. The road was part of US 11 and US 90, before MS 43 was designated in 1948. MS 607 was created in 1967, after MS 43 was rerouted, and Stennis Space Center was built.
Mississippi Highway 603 is a 25.0-mile-long (40.2 km) state highway in Hancock County, Mississippi. The highway generally runs north–south from its southern terminus at U.S. Route 90 (US 90) in Waveland through Bay St. Louis and Kiln to its northern terminus at MS 53 near Necaise. The road is maintained by the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT). MDOT and Mississippi's law code define MS 603's southern terminus as its intersection with MS 43 in Kiln. However, many maps such as Google Maps and MapQuest, and local signage show the highway continuing farther south to Waveland.' The road that became MS 603 has existed since 1927, and the highway was designated in 1950. The highway was also partially paved, from Waveland to Kiln, in 1950 and was completely paved in 1957. An interchange was created at Interstate 10 (I-10) in 1960.
Mississippi Highway 438 is a state highway in western Mississippi. The route starts at MS 1 in Wayside and travels eastward. The road travels through farmland and intersects U.S. Route 61 and its old alignment near Arcola. MS 438 continues eastward and ends at Sunflower River Road and Kinlock Road on the Washington–Sunflower county line near Kinlock. The route was constructed around 1950, connecting from MS 1 to US 61. The route was extended to the Washington–Sunflower county line by 1958, and to US 49W in Inverness by 1960. The section east of the county line was removed from the route by 1974.
Mississippi Highway 462 is a state highway in western Mississippi. The route starts at U.S. Route 61 near Port Gibson, and it travels eastward. The road then turns northeastward, and the route ends at Willows Road and Old Port Gibson Road near Willows. MS 462 was designated around 1958, as a gravel road extending eastward from US 61 near Port Gibson. The road was extended to MS 461 from 1960 to 1963, then to the Natchez Trace Parkway from 1967 to 1998.
Mississippi Highway 446 is a state highway in northwest Mississippi. The route starts at MS 1 near Lobdell, and it travels east through the Dahomey National Wildlife Refuge and Skene. The road enters Boyle, traveling through the center of the town as a boulevard. The route ends at U.S. Route 61 and US 278 on the eastern side of Boyle, and the road continues as Peavine Road. The highway was designated in 1955 along its current alignment, after the state had funded projects to improve the preexisting county road. The route was fully paved in asphalt by 1957.
Mississippi Highway 371 (MS 371) is a 44-mile-long (71 km) state highway in northeastern Mississippi running from MS 6 near Amory to MS 4 near New Site. The highway has been in existence since 1950 but it has followed its current alignment since 1965.
Mississippi Highway 503 (MS 503) is a 41-mile-long (66 km) state highway in eastern Mississippi running from MS 528 near its junction with Interstate 59 (I-59) outside of Heidelberg to MS 15 in Decatur. The highway has been in existence since 1951 and became designated MS 503 by 1955.
Mississippi Highway 495 (MS 495) is a state highway in eastern Mississippi running just under 34 miles (55 km) in length. Traveling through northern Lauderdale County and western Kemper County, it was created in 1957 and has remained on its original alignment since then.
Mississippi Highway 397 (MS 397) is a 33+1⁄2-mile-long (53.9 km) state highway in eastern Mississippi. Running generally in a southeast to northwest direction, it is signed north--south traveling from the De Kalb vicinity at MS 16 to Louisville at MS 14.
Mississippi Highway 407 (MS 407) is a two-lane wide state highway in central Mississippi consisting of two separate segments. The first segment connects the towns of McCool and Weir with MS 12 and is signed a north-south route. The second segment runs from French Camp at MS 413 west to Winona at U.S. Route 51 (US 51). Most of the road is state maintained, however, a 5.5-mile-long (8.9 km) segment between McCool and Weir are maintained as county roads.
Mississippi Highway 442 (MS 442) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Mississippi that runs 30.8 miles (49.6 km) through agricultural lands of the Mississippi Delta region. The highway connects the city of Shaw at MS 448 to U.S. Route 49E (US 49E) to the east of Schlater.
Mississippi Highway 552 (MS 552) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Mississippi that travels through Claiborne and Jefferson counties. The highway, consisting of two segments connected via McBride Road, connects Alcorn State University with Lorman, Natchez Trace Parkway and U.S. Route 61 (US 61) and other small communities in northern Jefferson County.
Mississippi Highway 513 (MS 513) is a 23.7-mile-long (38.1 km) state highway running between Quitman and Rose Hill. Established in 1950, it is signed as a north-south highway, though it generally runs from east to west.
