Model Town is a small neighbourhood on the southern part of the E.M. Bypass at Balia in Garia, close to Kolkata, India. [1] It is a posh locality with several housing complexes. The locality is near to Garia railway station of Kolkata Suburban Railway. The premium residential complex 4 Sight Model Town is in this area.

The Eastern Metropolitan Bypass is a 32 kilometres (20 mi) major road on the east side of Kolkata. It connects Ultadanga to Baruipur Puratan Bazar. The road is a major link to Salt Lake and New Town. A lot of high-end construction and development in Kolkata has been centred around the Bypass.

Kolkata Metro Line 6

Line 6 of the Kolkata Metro is an under-construction rapid transit line that will connect New Garia with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport via two satellite towns Salt Lake and New Town. There will be total of 24 stations. The line is targeted to open from Kavi Subhash to Hemanta Mukherjee in 2021. This stretch will be one the most important stretches of metro because it will connect the southern and the eastern parts of the city with Kolkata Airport. Total distance of this route will be 29.87 km.
